When the questioning was over, one of the investigators turned to Mac. “Mr. Mac, according to what we’ve gathered, this bag does indeed belong to Ms. Harrington. But earlier, your daughter spilled wine on Ms. Natalie; the two of them went to the restroom to change, and the bag was left in the lounge. During that time, Ms. Olivia claimed she lost her bracelet. Adeline chimed in right away. “Eda, let it go. You’re just too kindhearted, but some people don’t see it that way. In the end, they’ll only accuse you of meddling. And some things—well, some things can’t ever be changed p>
Lillian arched a brow at the two of them, her voice light. “So it seems the pair of you won’t rest until you’ve dumped this bucket of filth on me. Very well, then-I’ll put an end to your little game once and for all p>
Under everyone’s gaze, she bent down, picked up her backpack, and pulled out a pen-shaped device.
Eda and Adeline stiffened, their breath catching in their throats.
Mac glanced at his daughter. One look at her expression told him all he needed to know. Idiot, he cursed silently.

His face lit up. “You little rascal. Mr. Austin has complained more than once that you never visit him. And your aunt’s always talking about you p>
