She never expected Chloe would seek her out just to ask for Sebastian’s number.

Chloe’s face burned with anger. She’d thought a million would be more than enough to dismiss her; never had she expected such audacity. “You must be out of your mind, asking me for a hundred million? Do you really think you’re worth that p>
Lillian only shrugged, unbothered, her smile bright. “Can’t be helped. I’m poor, so when I stumble on a windfall, of course, I have to hold onto it tight. Don’t you agree, Ms. Chloe p>
“You…” Chloe stammered. Never in her life had she been humiliated like this.
Lillian’s grin widened, playful and sharp. “Remember, one hundred million. Take your time, Ms. Chloe; whenever you’ve thought it over, you know where to find me.” With that, she stepped past her and walked away.
Chloe glared at her retreating back, seething, teeth clenched in fury.
Outside the hall, whispers followed Lillian as she walked, heads turning in curiosity and awe.
