“Lillian, are you finished?” Jeremy walked straight over and asked.
Lillian nodded. “Yeah, I just wrapped up. Why, what’s going on p>
Jeremy looked a little embarrassed. “I’m sorry… when Rosie came to confront you before, I had no idea. So today, I asked her to come and apologize p>
Lillian glanced at Rosie, who stood there with an unhappy expression, and gave a cold laugh. “No need. Honestly, she didn’t really do anything wrong. “You-” Rosie’s eyes twisted with fury as she glared at Lillian.
“What? Did I say anything untrue? Didn’t you see me as an enemy? Didn’t you assume Jeremy and I were close? Didn’t you come warn me in person?” Lillian’s voice rose, sharp and clear.
“If a woman thinks she can win a man’s heart by constantly targeting other women, she’ll never have him p>
Jeremy’s eyes held an apologetic look as he said to Lillian, “I’m sorry. I just wanted to have a simple meal; I never imagined it would turn into all this p>
“It’s fine. None of this is really your fault, so you don’t need to apologize.” From beginning to end, Jeremy hadn’t done anything wrong.
Jeremy’s gaze hardened as he turned to Rosie. “I want you to apologize to Lillian p>
Rosie’s eyes reddened, her expression stubborn. “You really want me to apologize to her p>
“Yes,” Jeremy said firmly.
Rosie shot Lillian a venomous glare. “I’m sorry, Miss.” With that, she spun around and stormed off.
Jeremy watched the direction Rosie had gone and sighed. “She’s just a classmate. She confessed to me once, but I turned her down. I never thought she’d come after you like that p>
“It’s fine,” Lillian said dismissively. “It’s over now. But sometimes, things need to be said outright; otherwise, they only cause unnecessary trouble p>

Just then, Lillian’s phone rang.
Jeremy smiled. “Take care of that-I’ll get going.” He turned and left.
When she answered, a voice barked through the line, “Lillian, where are you p>
“Cameron?” she asked in confusion.
Cameron chuckled. “That’s right-the one and only, world’s most handsome me. Hurry up, I need to talk to you. Where are you p>
“I’m at school,” Lillian answered directly.
“Then come out. I’ll be at your school gate in a minute.” And he hung up before she could respond.
Lillian stared at her phone, then handed her book to Isabelle. “Take this back for me; I’ve got something to do p>
“Sure. Go on,” Isabelle said, taking it from her.
When Lillian reached the school gate, she saw a sapphire-blue sports car parked at the curb. Groups of students lingered around, whispering and pointing.
Seriously? Too flashy…
She inwardly groaned-just her luck. Could this day get any worse?
She was about to turn and slip away when-
“Lillian! Over here! Where do you think you’re going?” Cameron shouted loudly.
Idiot. She cursed inwardly, then, steeling herself, turned/and walked toward him.
Leaning casually against the car, Cameron grinned. “What? I’m standing here looking this good, and you didn’t even notice me p>
