They never expected the Boss to enter the field, turning them into the front line.
A public-area Boss was on par with a hell-level dungeon Boss, usually ten levels higher than the strongest professional allowed inside.
So this giant octopus was a level 30.
Against candidates averaging level 10, with only a few at level 12 or 13, it was like a wolf charging into a flock of sheep.
A large number of them died instantly.
Some rushed forward without hesitation, others fled too late.
The golden furball that had been circling the sea like a blooming firework suddenly changed direction and rushed to the octopus’s side, stopping in midair.
A terrifying pressure slammed the octopus down against a building.

In an instant, unbearable heat tore the octopus apart. Its tentacles were burned away midair, completely vaporized. The creature, once capable of incredible regeneration, vanished entirely.
