Third Person’s POV
Alpha Cassian watched her perform under the lights with a dead expression.
To an Alpha of his rank, her omega scent wasn’t just unappealing-it smelled like a vat of spoiled cheesy syrup.
He stood up slowly and set the pen-shaped recorder down on the table.
Right then, Humphrey knocked and entered.
Samantha let out a sharp gasp, scrambling to pick up her clothes and throw them
back on.
She glanced at the table as she fumbled with her zipper.
The pen looked totally ordinary; she assumed it was just a standard office accessory and didn’t give it a second thought.
“Alpha Cassian,” Humphrey said, eyes fixed strictly forward. “Mr. Dontes from Farview Global is outside. He saw you come in and wants to invite you for a drink p>
Cassian frowned. Ironthorn had long-standing trade ties with Farview Global; blowing him off would be a major social breach.
He looked over at Samantha.
She quickly forced a flattering smile. “Business comes first. I’ll wait here for you p>
Cassian grabbed the recorder off the table. His voice was low and loaded with hidden meaning. “I promised you a birthday you’d never forget, and I keep my word. Sit tight for a bit p>
“That’s all I needed to hear,” Samantha gushed, her head spinning with greed. “I’ll wait as long as it takes p>
Cassian gave a slight nod and walked out with Humphrey.
The second the door closed, Samantha spun around in excitement.
She could feel it-the way Cassian had looked at her was intense. She was
convinced her omega pheromones were finally working.
He had just severed his mating with Trista; he was vulnerable, lonely, and looking for a place to land.
She wasn’t going to waste this window.
She wanted everyone to witness their reunion. She wanted to slap the Ironthorn label on herself in front of every pack in L.A., ending any other she-wolf’s fantasy of taking the Luna throne.
She pulled out her phone and called Madison.
“Madison, Cassian and I are getting back together tonight. Find a big ballroom, get it decorated, and invite everyone p>
Madison sounded disgusted on the other end. “Samantha, you still owe me five hundred grand. You’ve got some nerve asking for favors p>
“Five hundred thousand?” Samantha scoffed, her tone delusional. “After tonight, I’m the Luna of Ironthorn p>

In her head, once she was the Luna, a bastard child like Madison wouldn’t even be
fit to be her friend anymore.
Madison went silent for a moment
before letting out a fake laugh. “Come on, we’re friends. I’m not, going to get mad over money, Just don’t forget me once you’re running the show. I’ll go book the halband start making calls p>
“And listen,” Samantha added, a wicked glint in her eye. “Make sure Alaina and Wynn are invited. I want them to see the show p>
She hung up, smiling like a viper.
Cassian had personally agreed to spend her birthday with her. She couldn’t wait to see the look on Alaina’s face when she saw her son practically glued to Samantha.
Next, she called George and Angela.
“Mom, George—it’s official. Cassian and I are getting back together tonight. I need you guys to go pick up Trista and bring her to the party p>
“Why the hell do we want her there?” Georgia asked, confused.
Samantha took a sip of water, her gaze lethal. “Mom, I don’t care what you have to do-get that bitch there. I want her to watch me take over her man and her life with her own two eyes p>
She wanted Trista to see the world revolve around Samantha. She wanted her to watch Cassian hand over a priceless gift and announce their reunion to the world.
She couldn’t wait to see Trista’s “perfect” face crack with jealousy and despair.
Thirty minutes later, at the edge of Silverlight territory, Georgia screamed toward the house from the gate.
“Dr. Holmes! Alpha Cassian is throwing a birthday party for my daughter tonight— they’re getting back together! Samantha knows how hard you’ve worked on her treatment, so she wants you there for the big reveal p>
Ulva looked at the three low-lifes outside and lowered her center of gravity, growling. “You’re howling at our gate in the middle of the night and bothering our neighbors you don’t beat it, I’m calling the cops trespassing p>
Angela put her hands on her hips, her voice shrill. “What’s the matter, Trista? Are
you still holding out hope that Alpha Cassian will mark you again? Is that why you’re hiding p>
Randolph stepped in front of his daughter, his face like stone. “My daughter has zero connection to that man. Who he sleeps with is none of our business. Get out before I make you p>
George piped up, shouting at the top of his lungs, “Hey, we’re just trying to be friendly here p>
Georgia pointed a finger at Trista. “You’re a coward, Trista! If you don’t show up, it means you’re still obsessed with being the Ironthorn Luna! You’re just scared to see my daughter take your place p>
Trista looked at the three of them making a scene. She turned to her parents. “Mom, Dad, go back inside. I’ll go with them p>
If she didn’t agree, these three would howl until sunrise. The neighbors didn’t deserve that, and Trista didn’t want the air in her territory polluted by the stench of low-tier trash any longer.
