Liberty teased, observing her sister’s reaction. Noticing that Serenity smiled without responding, Liberty understood that the couple hadn’t fully resolved their issues.
“What did Zachary want to discuss with you?” Liberty asked, concerned.
As she picked up her son, Liberty entered the restaurant alongside her sister.
In response to Liberty’s question, Serenity quickly returned to the car to get the envelope containing all of Zachary’s assets.
Once back at the restaurant, Serenity inquired about the absence of workers, “Is the renovation finished p>
“Yes, they just wrapped up. I told them I’d clean up the place and check for any necessary changes. I’ll pay them for their work tomorrow if everything looks good p>
Liberty replied as she set her son down to play in the restaurant. She then poured her sister a drink, and the sisters took a seat at a table.
The table had been cleaned and polished multiple times before.

Serenity encouraged, handing the envelope to her sister for a look. “Zachary gave this to me. I didn’t want to…
him and me, but I feel it. He compromised by asking me to keep it, but he still doesn’t truly understand what I want p>
Liberty inquired about the contents as she removed the document from the envelope. Inside, she found title deeds, car keys, and a transfer of equity for York Corporation. The shares of York Corporation were worth a fortune.
“Zachary gave this to you?!” Liberty exclaimed, her eyes widening.
Typically, wealthy individuals sign prenuptial agreements before marrying to protect the groom’s assets from potential claims by the bride. Many couples who thrive together post-marriage often find themselves at odds during divorce proceedings over estate divisions.
This issue isn’t exclusive to the wealthy. When Liberty sought a divorce, Hank initially refused to offer her anything. He argued that she was only entitled to thirty thousand dollars since she hadn’t worked during their marriage, and therefore had no claim to his money.
Thanks to Zachary, who gathered evidence of Hank’s side business, Liberty was able to leverage this information to negotiate a share of Hank’s estate and custody rights for their son. Although she could pursue legal action for more funds, she wouldn’t receive as much as she had hoped.
Zachary was well-off, and to reassure her sister, he was willing to give her everything he owned. It must have been love that motivated him to act this way; otherwise, Liberty wasn’t sure what it was.
Zachary wasn’t just bequeathing his assets to Serenity; he was also offering her his love.
“I think we are fundamentally different. It took him a week to decide to leave his assets to me. He claims he’ll run the company, but the profits will go to me. He believes I’ll feel secure now that I have the upper hand. He doesn’t see the social gap between us, but I certainly do p>
“The only thing he asks is that I don’t leave. I can’t divorce him,” Serenity said, a bitter smile crossing her face. “He’s only seeing the surface of the problem, Liberty. He hasn’t explored what truly separates us. He doesn’t know me well enough p>
Liberty retorted, “You’ve only known each other for the duration of your marriage. It’s natural that he doesn’t know you deeply. Are you confident that you know him inside and out as well p>
