He lowered his head and met her gaze. Longing and fear filled her eyes.

Joy flickered across Jessica’s face. She clutched his hand as if afraid he might leave, even trying to tug it beneath the blanket
Dominic did not allow it. He tightened his grip just enough to stop her.
It was not that he felt nothing for the little menace. A perfectly intact stick of dynamite, however, was best kept far from any spark. Otherwise, it was bound to explode and cause an accident.
