She instinctively squeezed her eyes shut and stumbled back. But instead of feeling pain, she heard something heavy crashing onto the floor. She snapped her eyes open, only to find a towering figure instantly shielding her in shadow.
Harrison instinctively reached out toward her face, where she’d almost been hurt. “You okay?” he asked quietly, his eyes cold and sharp.
In the end, he let his hand fall, afraid of crossing a line. He was also afraid everything between them would be ruined if his true feelings were exposed.
Out of the corner of her eye, Gwyneth finally saw Miranda get violently kicked to the ground. Several police officers and security guards immediately swarmed in to restrain her.
