Luna Cassia continued, “Besides, while mating should be a matter of personal choice, parental opinions still hold significant weight. As long as he doesn’t object, you can make the decision without waiting for his
return.”
Sibyl thought for a moment and said, “You have a point. How about this? I’ll find a suitable time to talk with your family again. We can exchange more information. If everything goes smoothly, I’ll formally. push for the mating ceremony. How does that sound?”
Luna Cassia felt relieved. Madison’s constant urging had been quite bothersome.
She laughed and said, “I feel like I’m the one chasing after a mating. But she’s not getting any younger. If you folks don’t take a liking to her, I need to find her another match sooner rather than later. It’s a weight off my mind if we can settle this now.”
Sibyl empathized, “I know the feeling. I’ve been worrying myself sick over Eugene’s mating. I just hope it gets settled soon.”
Luna Cassia agreed, “Yes, it’s better for both of them to settle down early.”
Sibyl added, “We’ll still go through the proper procedures, just for peace and good fortune.”
Luna Cassia nodded approvingly, “In that case, I’ll wait for your visit.”
After Luna Cassia left, Sibyl called in Genevieve and asked, “Genevieve, do you think we can stall any longer? Have we heard anything from Luna Adelaide?”
Genevieve replied with a smile, “Regardless of what Luna Adelaide says, we need about a week for all these steps. Since she asked us to stall, we’ll do just that. We’ll delay without offending anyone or harming Eugene’s reputation.”
“Your words ease my mind. Eugene’s mating has had quite the obstacles. It seems someone’s been targeting him. If this doesn’t work out, we’ll have to find him a new mate soon,” Sibyl sighed.
Genevieve comforted her, “Don’t worry. He probably knows the situation and won’t resist anymore.”
“I hope so,” Sibyl said with a resigned sigh.
Luna Cassia sent word to Madison that the Hutchinson family would discuss the matter again in two days, tentatively setting things in motion.
Madison happened to have Hunt at the mansion for a discussion. Upon hearing the news, she coolly remarked, “The Spectrehowl Pack/always drags its feet. This should have been settled long ago. How can I trust you with important tasks when the mating ceremony isn’t even on the agenda yet?”
Hunt, noting her stern expression and recalling the recent demands for intercourse , felt a surge of disgust.
He had heard she was preparing her body for pregnancy.
Given this, he was willing to cooperate. A son from the Shuman family would inevitably align with the

“I’ll speak to them when I return,” Hunt said.
Madison inquired, “The Moon Newborn Festival is approaching. Have you invited Priest Abram ? ”
“Yes, I’ve invited Priest Abram and seven others. I’ll personally collect them carly on the festival day , Hunt replied.
Madison acknowledged, “You may bring your mother that day, but inform her that participation requires staying up all night. If she can’t handle it, she shouldn’t attend.”
“She can manage it. She’s been eager to come,” Hunt assured her.
The ladies attending the Moon Newborn Festival were powerful wolf pack members or noblewomen, their husbands or sons holding significant government positions.
Their compassionate natures would benefit the Spectrehowl Pack’s youth if they became acquainted.
Madison didn’t believe Luna Cassia truly worshipped the Moon Goddess, but results mattered more than beliefs.
These ladies, except for Cyrus’s wife, had all relinquished family management.
Yet their mere suggestion could cause their children to act with urgency.
Their word carried more weight than substantial gifts.
Over the years, through blessing rituals at the Moon Newborn Festival, these ladies had shown Madison great respect. Only Mrs. Voss held a grudge due to Adelaide’s affair.
The others, though possibly hearing rumors, maintained compassion and relied on their own observations rather than gossip.
Madison appreciated their compassion when it served her but deemed it foolish otherwise.
This year, she planned to bring Sadi and Maya to demonstrate Germain’s mate and breeder’s compassion.
As for Skye, her ignorance and timidity, coupled with her Doyle family ties, made her a potential future – trouble–best to keep her away if possible.
After dismissing Hunt, Madison summoned the wolf guard captain and ordered, “Tomorrow, keep a close watch on Cassius. The moment he leaves the city, seize him and bring him here. Take the driver and his attendants to the countryside estate and bring Cassius back.”
Rosa, eavesdropping outside the door, felt a faint heaviness in her heart and let out an inaudible sigh.
Madison had ultimately chosen this path.
