The receptionist must have judged her by the simplicity of her clothes and assumed she wasn’t the sort of person who would be meeting with Silas.

“Please head on up. Mr. Myers is on the 19th floor. You can go right up.” The receptionist waved her through without hesitation.

A few minutes later, a woman who appeared to be a secretary entered with coffee and fruit. Her gaze was sharp, and Calliope could sense the disdain in her eyes.
