Some called her shameless. Others said she had it too easy with money, and many were appalled that someone like her would have the audacity to flirt with Silas.
And then there were the zealots, tagging Silas in a frenzy, urging him to divorce Calliope immediately, claiming that her “filth” was probably contagious.

“Exactly,” Calliope smiled, “As long as those who know me believe in me, nothing else matters p>
“But some crazies might take it too far,” Damien frowned. “Are you sure you don’t want us to be close by p>
“There’s no need. I’m headed to a class reunion today,” Calliope explained, “Having a crowd with me wouldn’t be practical p>
“A class reunion?” Damien’s eyes widened, “What a coincidence p>
“Yep,” Calliope shrugged.
She received the invitation last night. Her high school class president had called to invite her to the reunion, assuring her that her classmates believed in her and wanted her to explain the rumors.
But Calliope knew better. It wasn’t any ordinary reunion. It was likely a trap orchestrated by Lisette. She had no intention of dragging Damien and his crew along.
Though unpredictable things happened at such gatherings, she was Calliope, after all, not easily outmaneuvered.
