He looked over at Valerian and the two others, who were staring back at him, completely baffled.
“Really, it’s like talking to a brick wall with you guys,” Max muttered under his breath.
“What wall?” Monty asked, furrowing his brow. “What screenwriter… Max, didn’t we pay for this event? Why is everyone acting so weird p>
“Oh, please,” Max rolled his eyes. “That money’s nothing! The real prize is getting any scoop on C! If you had info on C, you’d be the talk of the town With that kind of buzz, money wouldn’t be an issue!
I’ve got to run and edit some videos, prep my script, you know? Can’t stick around chatting while everyone’s scrambling for the scoop p>
Max noticed the reporters had scattered, each chasing the latest lead. He started to panic, “I can’t let them get ahead of me p>

And with that, Max took off at a sprint.
Horatio and the others were left standing there, at a loss for what to do.
“Well, there goes that money,” Valerian frowned.
“Forget it,” Monty shrugged, glancing at Horatio. “We’ve found a way to deal with this. We’ll just have to let Callie handle the company. If there’s a problem, she’ll figure it out. And if she’s managing the company, it means she’s forgiven us, at least in the eyes of everyone else? That’ll help the company bounce back p>
Calliope had been visiting the old Baker family estate for several days.
Verity and the others were there too, lending a hand with all the wedding preparations for Gideon and Yvette.
After Damien dropped off Million, it and Eamon hit it off immediately. Whenever Calliope visited, Eamon and Million were thrilled.
After days of bustling activity, it was finally the eve of Yvette and Gideon’s wedding. Everything was ready.
That evening, everyone gathered at the estate for dinner. Silas was still tied up with work and hadn’t made it back yet.
Calliope kept in touch with Silas on the phone every day, but Gideon’s wedding wasn’t a big deal to him.
During dinner, Calliope could feel Gideon’s eyes on her more than once.

“Aunt Callie, you’ve been amazing to Gideon, running around and helping out so much. We’re really grateful for all your effort!” Yvette said directing her words at Calliope.
