The car roared through the mountain road, the only vehicle cutting through the night.
In the backseat, the man was too terrified to utter another word.

confidence. “This time, she’s got no way gut. Those guys are the best you’ve got. Calliope will have no choice but to play by my rules p>
“Of course. Those bodyguards are top-notch, trained by me personally. Relax, Gideon’s future is secure in our hands,” Gabriel Lawson said with a smug smile, swirling a glass of whiskey.
“Is this really okay?” Gideon asked, his brow furrowed. “Uncle, Mom… if Silas finds out, he’ll never forgive us p>
“Gideon, stop being such a coward!” Fleur snapped. “You’ve got to be bold to achieve great things. If you don’t say anything and I don’t say anything, how would Silas ever find out about today p>
Gabriel chuckled lightly, “And that woman who left you? She’s even less likely to breathe a word. If she dares, those photos will be all over the world p>
Fleur said through gritted teeth. “Gideon, remember, she’s the reason you’re in this mess. That witch never wanted you. She was always after Silas! Did you really think she loved you? She never did! She’s no good, that one p>
Gideon paused, his thoughts clouded with doubt. He remembered all the times she’d claimed to love him, yet never allowed him to get too close She must have been involved with Silas already. Maybe she really was only ever after Silas.
