“I’m in Nareigh,” Teresa replied, though she wasn’t sure if she’d actually go back. She wasn’t ready to face Jennifer. Snapping back to the moment, she added, “There are lots of great universities in Nareigh. You’re always welcome to come p>
The girl nodded and gave Teresa a tight hug.
Before leaving, Teresa reported Lysander to the police. As she lowered her head, she couldn’t help feeling a little lost. She’d sworn to Jonathan that she was doing great, but honestly, she hadn’t felt this out of place since her days in Nareigh.
Jonathan felt a sharp pang in his chest. “I just can’t stand seeing you all alone in a strange city, with no one to lean on. It’s like there’s no one left to have your back,” he said quietly.
“Who do I even have behind me?” Teresa asked softly.
“ There are plenty of people,” Jonathan replied. But when it came down to it, there weren’t many she could really count on.

The next second, his phone started ringing. He glanced at the caller ID, frowned, but didn’t answer right away. Instead, he turned to Teresa and said, “The Porsche is ready for you. Go take it for a spin p>
“I’ll transfer you the money,” Teresa offered.
“No need. Just think of it as payment for taking care of me last night,” Jonathan said with a smirk.
The memory made Teresa blush. Her lips were still red. There wasn’t anyone else around, but she still had her pride. She couldn’t help but want to give
him a good smack.

Teresa’s face turned even redder. “You’re one to talk. I’ve got plenty of your marks too,” she muttered, though she wasn’t about to show them off in
public.
“I’ve got something to take care of. You go test drive the car, and if everything’s fine, I’ll have my driver take Mike where he needs to go,” Jonathan said, already shifting back into business mode.
Michael had been staying at the hotel lately. The staff took care of all his meals. There was a huge TV he could watch for free, and he’d been living a good life these past few days.
Jonathan had been with Teresa these last couple of days, so he hadn’t had time to check in on Michael.
Teresa’s eyes flashed. “I’ll go pick up the kid myself. My friend is still in Jarisburg with Christian’s mom at the hospital. No idea when she’ll be back. ”
“I’ll have the driver take you two home,” Jonathan said, heading out first.
Teresa thought to herself, ‘Good, it’s better this way p>
Jonathan went to the hospital.
Lysander ended up with a serious injury and now he was threatening to sue Jonathan.
