‘Family? What family do I even have? Forget it,‘ Teresa thought. She saw through it all. She’d rather live well on her own than rely on a family that only ever brought her pain.

Maybe that was true, but Teresa didn’t care anymore. Besides, if Jennifer really married Donald, then Irene would be her aunt–in–law. If Jennifer wanted a peaceful life, she’d better not go up against Irene.

Her flight was about to board, so Teresa headed for security, not noticing the tall figure standing

It was evening by the time Teresa landed at Nareigh International Airport.
Dragging her suitcase along, she made her way home, feeling like she’d been gone for a lifetime. Everything looked familiar, yet somehow distant.
She’d left in March, and now it was almost July. The airport was packed with people coming and going.
