In the CEO’s office, Michael had some snacks and then fell asleep in Jonathan’s break
room.
The way Michael lay there, his long eyelashes, high nose bridge, and delicate face reminded Jonathan of Teresa. She also liked to sleep on her stomach because she found it more comfortable, even though it put pressure on her heart.
Ever since that night when he suggested remarriage and was turned down, they had stopped contacting each other.
He thought that he would have to wait for her to come to him in the next lifetime if he didn’t initiate contact.
“Mike, wake up,” Jonathan called him several times, but Michael was still asleep. Thinking that he had to leave, he reluctantly picked Michael up from the bed. Only then did Michael wake up.

“You’re in my break room. It’s getting late. You should go home, or else your mom will worry,” Jonathan said, then proceeded to call Christian to have him come and take Michael home.
Michael yawned. “Mommy probably isn’t home yet. She often works overtime and gets home late p>
As soon as Michael finished speaking, his stomach growled. He looked down at his belly and said, “Daddy, I’m hungry p>
Jonathan pursed his lips while looking into Michael’s innocent eyes. In later times, he would often blame himself for not recognizing Michael as his son right away. The obvious was only obvious when it happened to someone else.
If Michael had looked like Teresa, he would have recognized him at first glance, but the child resembled him so much that he couldn’t notice it.
“What do you want to eat?” Jonathan gently patted Michael’s head, not realizing that his voice had softened considerably.

Jonathan smiled lightly, thinking that Teresa also liked eating bread of all kinds. He remembered that one time before the divorce, Teresa had eaten bread for three days

Looking at Michael’s clear eyes, Jonathan felt distressed. He wanted to tell Michael

“Mike, why do you insist that I’m your daddy?” Jonathan asked patiently as he picked Michael up to help him put on his shoes.
Michael replied, “Because… You’re tall and handsome, and you run a big company that makes lots and lots of money. If you were my daddy, my mommy wouldn’t have to work so hard, and we could spend your money p>
‘Spend my money? Am I some kind of easy target? Jonathan was amused by Michael‘ s innocence and honesty.
He said, “There’s no way your mom and I can be together. My heart belongs to someone else p>
Michael’s face fell, and he pouted. “Who does your heart belong to? Have I met her before p>
Jonathan explained, “I mean, I already like someone else p>
Michael, unconvinced, said, “But my mommy is beautiful p>
Jonathan nodded. “The person I like is also beautiful p>
Michael refused to back down. “My mom is a really beautiful woman! Really, really beautiful p>
Jonathan smiled lightly. “Well, the person I like is also really beautiful p>
Michael huffed. “Then, show me her picture. Let me see how beautiful she is p>
Jonathan was amazed by Michael’s wittiness and wondered where the latter got it from, considering Christian didn’t seem that smart. He gently pinched Michael’s cheek and said, “I won’t show it to you. It’s my secret p>
Michael said, “Hmph, if you don’t show me her picture, I won’t show you my mommy’s picture either. I’m afraid you’ll get a nosebleed when you see her p>
Jonathan was puzzled.
He had never gotten a nosebleed from anyone. Besides, he had seen Michael’s mother from afar when Michael asked him for an autograph. She was not his type and wouldn‘ t make him get a nosebleed.
Michael’s stomach growled again, clearly showing how hungry he was. He shook Jonathan’s arm. “Daddy, will you please take me to get something to eat? I’m really hungry p>
“Call me Mr. Lime, and I’ll take you out to eat,” said Jonathan.
“Okay, Mr. Daddy Lime. Can you please take me out to eat?” Michael continued shaking Jonathan’s arm and pleaded, leaving Jonathan speechless.
Meanwhile, Teresa was anxiously waiting at home, wondering why Christian hadn’t brought Michael back yet. She couldn’t call Christian, so she sent him messages while

A few minutes later, Christian’s call came through, and Teresa answered right away. Where’s Mike? Did you bring him back?” she asked.
Christian said, “Mrs. Lynn, bad news. Mr. Lynn said that Mike was hungry, so he took him out for a meal. He said that he’d bring him home a little later p>
“What?” Teresa was furious, wishing that she could kick Christian through the phone.” Didn’t you tell him that his mother was waiting for him at home? You could’ve made up an excuse to not let him take Michael p>
Christian explained helplessly, “I did tell him that, but Mike himself said you’re working late and wouldn’t be home for him. He insisted on going out to eat with Mr. Lynn.” Teresa was flabbergasted. “Oh my gosh, when did I ever ignore him? That brat needs some discipline p>
Just then, the door opened, and Miriam and the movers showed up. They came here because Sherry was moving; she had decided to move in with Christian to live closer to her workplace.
Teresa said to the movers, “Could you please send more people over here? Both of us are moving today p>
“Are you planning to move everything out today, ma’am?” one of the movers asked.
“Yes,” Teresa replied.
