His jaw relaxed, though his eyes remained alert as he carried me through the pack house’s grand
entrance.

The pack members we passed lowered their eyes respectfully, but I caught their curious glances.
Their Alpha carrying bloodied luna through their halls was surely fodder for gossip, but Alexander paid
them no mind as he climbed the sweeping staircase to the private quarters.
My heart raced as he shouldered open the door to his bedroom.
After our heated exchange in the car and his promise of what would happen when we returned, I
expected to be thrown onto his massive bed, claimed thoroughly by my Alpha mate.
Instead, Alexander carried me straight past the bed and into an adjoining bathroom larger than my entire
bedroom at Silver Creek.
A deep, circular tub dominated the space, and Alexander gently set me on my feet beside it.
“First, we need to wash away today’s battle,” he said, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
