VALENCIA’S POV
I didn’t know what to say to him anymore. And thus, I let silence stay between us for some time.
With a sigh, I stood from my place with closed eyes.
’What are you planning to do?’ Aurora asked me after some time, and I shrugged.
What was I planning? I was planning to tell Maverick everything about my identity—not today, when he was already sad, but after this Meeting, for sure.
I didn’t want to let his feelings grow more vital for me without knowing what he was getting into. Not everyone is the same. There are good and bad people in every species and group. He would decide to accept me or not.
I would agree that he suffered a lot, and I wasn’t the one who compared their situations, but he had the alpha position to take over when his family betrayed him, and he threw his brother out. But? I was left with the choice of leaving the pack only if I wanted to stay alive because I wasn’t some high-position wolf.
If he is ready to accept this, it’s okay, or I will leave without making much noise.

“Let’s jump from here,” I said to Maverick, who looked at me with wide eyes as if contemplating whether I had lost my mind.
“You know you are standing on one of the tallest cliffs in the area, right?” he asked, and I nodded.
“I understand that. Do you know we are standing on the cliff beside the waterfall, and the water is flowing right from under this cliff? We will fall in the water at most,” I said.
This wasn’t my first time doing it; I knew it wasn’t risky.
But let me check his feelings for me, too.
Will he jump down this cliff with me? None of us were Immortals or immune to lethal wounds, nor were we vampires who would use their powers and speed to control their velocity and direction of falling and stand on the rock without a problem.

I stepped back towards the edge, facing Maverick.

“You better brace yourself. Once I catch you, I’ll eat you right here in the forest,” he said.
Hearing his choice of words, I couldn’t help but widen my eyes. This wasn’t looking like a good idea anymore.
I was about to step ahead when I felt a sudden jerk in my body and fell backward.
’Aurora!’ I shouted at my wolf, who had taken a liking to putting me into a compromising position with him all the time.
I gulped as I fell backward, facing the cliff. It wasn’t long before I saw Alpha Maverick jumping along.
He looked at me with a smirk, and I wished I had some rewind powers to reach the cliff again, which would give me enough time to run away.
Why? Because it was embarrassing. I turn pitiful under his touch, and it feels like I have no control over my body.
But do you know what surprises me the most is that I like every second of it? I like it when he dominates me, deciding how to punish me and with what kind of sexual activity.
Even if it’s a heated kiss in the changing room or his fingers inside my pussy, he makes me feel loved and caressed at the same time.

My thoughts were interrupted when I felt my body hitting the water body, and a loud splashing sound echoed around me.
The current wasn’t too bad, but it was enough to move my body along with the flow immediately.
’I love it,’ Aurora said, and I felt weird sensations traveling inside me.
What the hell was happening? The water under my feet felt like it was tickling me, and I barely turned around to see Alpha Maverick as another splash sound echoed.
He smirked at me, and an involuntary squeal left my mouth.
My body moved on its accord as we started swimming away from him.
“Swim faster, Mitsuki. Don’t let me get my hands on you,” he said shamelessly, knowing that he was much faster than me because he was an alpha, while I didn’t know what I was.
I moved my hands the fastest I could because I had no problem swimming. My survival instincts kicked in, and the feeling of being prey to one of the most vital predators, the werewolf, settled in my heart. It wasn’t long before I got on the ground.
Without looking back, I started running randomly, slipping on the rock as it hit my head.
However, I didn’t let it affect me.
I don’t know how long I ran for. I kept running until my legs gave up, and my body started to burn up from exhaustion.
Hiding behind a big tree with my chest heaving up and down due to my breathlessness, I took deep and quick breaths to calm myself, my heart drumming in my ears.
I looked behind myself, and when I noticed he wasn’t there, I quickly turned to the right to reach the top of the cliff again, where my bike was, so I could leave before he could get me.
My job here was to bring him out of his sadness, and I did it. I didn’t need to stay for longer, or I would lose myself in these feelings if he caught me and did those things to me.
As I walked some distance, I felt someone watching me, and I turned around.
A sudden sense of creep settled in my heart. This was definitely not Maverick’s gaze. I could feel it.
If someone was really here, it wasn’t Maverick, and the thought that someone else was watching me while I was drenched like this made me feel subconscious.
’In a hurry?’ I heard a question.
’Yes, of course. Do you think I will let Maverick catch me and have his way with me and–?’ I paused when I realized Aurora didn’t ask this question.
I quickly turned and looked around. There was no one in sight.
If that was the case, who asked that question? Was it my subconscious playing tricks on me?
I took a deep breath and started walking again. However, I had only walked a few steps when dark clouds began to appear out of nowhere.
I forgot to check the weather report. Who was I kidding? I rarely see those forecasts. Did they say something about the rain today?
Aaah, Alpha Maverick is undoubtedly going to be pissed at me for this.
Chuckling at the thought of his annoyed face, I shook my head and started walking uphill faster.
I needed to reach the top of the cliff as quickly as possible. If it started to pour, the soil would become slippery and four times harder to climb.
’Come on. Give me some powers, Aurora,’ I told my wolf, who had gone strangely quiet.
What was wrong with her? Usually, after playing a trick like that with me, she never ceases to laugh and make fun of my dilemmas.
Was she sleeping, or was she ignoring me?
’How long do you think you can run from us?’ The same voice said again, and this time, I was sure someone was messing with me.
Could it be one of those angels who came to meet me a month ago or so? The one with the beautiful white dress and who had disappeared in that weird flying car as soon as Maverick came to me?
“Who is it? If you are daring enough to talk to me, you should be daring enough to appear in front of me, too,” I couldn’t help but mutter.
There is no way I will let some faceless voice make me anxious over nothing.
’You think you can stand still if I arrive?’ The voice said, making me clench my jaws.
The voice was so monotone, like a whisper, that it was even more challenging to decipher if it was a male or female, and it was pissing me off.
’I mean, the last time I checked, you still run away from me whenever I appear in your dreams,’ The voice whispered again, and this time I froze.
All the bravery I felt suddenly left my body and flew away as images of the weird dreams I had been having for some time flooded my head.
That weird blood puddle and that faceless translucent body that forms from that puddle and chases me, throwing me into the blood water or whatever it is every time.
Even the thought of it made me gag, and I was about to ask what it wanted from me and why it was behind me when I saw a puddle of blood forming in front of me, and it was my time to run away.
