To soften the rejection, he reached out and gently brushed her hair. “Let’s just put this behind us, alright? If you ever need anything, you know you can always come to me, just like before.” After saying that, he turned away and walked off, leaving only the sound of his footsteps fading into the evening.
Left standing there, Trinity watched Jason leave, her vision blurring as tears threatened to fall. Frustration and heartache tangled inside her, threatening to spill over.
