“He’s a blabbermouth, just like his mother. The best thing to do is finish him off now before he grows up to be a threat, just like his mother,” she said.
“Also, guess what the party is for?” she added, laughing crazily. “This is for you all. We’re going to make this place your gravesite—both mother and son. But you still have a chance to live if you do as we ask. If not, I can’t guarantee your safety,” she said.

“Your mother here, Vivienne, is my accomplice. She has always been my accomplice, even before your father’s death,” he said.
“What do you think you’re talking about? The only reason my mother would be an accomplice to you is because she thought I’d end up marrying your daughter. There’s no other reason. So don’t even think I’ll fall for your trick,” I said, staring at my mother, who made no attempt to deny his claim. I guessed she had been threatened—that’s the only reason she was silent.
“Vivienne, your son thinks I’m lying about you. Why not tell him the truth so he can understand this whole deal? Let him decide if he will be on our side or against us. You have limited time to do that,” he said, staring at my mom.
“He’s not lying to you, Christian. Everything he said is the truth. You don’t have to doubt what he just told you,” she said.
“Did they put you up to this? Is this also part of his plan?” I asked with a scoff.
