“I have always wanted you, Sheela. I don’t mind taking the fall for you as long as you give me your body. I will cherish it. I don’t mind worshipping it. And like I said, I will be willing to take the fall for you if anything goes wrong in the future. So, what do you say?” he asked.
Tristan’s POV
I walked into Emily’s room and found her dozing, papers scattered around her on the bed while her laptop screen glowed. It was clear she had been working non-stop.
I just can’t stop loving her. Everything about her screams loyalty and dedication. She handles my father’s business like it’s her own, with the kind of care that reassures me. Since she started working with the company, I hardly ever go there myself anymore. I know it’s in good hands, reliable ones at that. She never complains and is always working hard, never tiring.
I gently closed the laptop, but I wasn’t careful enough. Emily stirred, her eyes fluttering open just as I did.
“You’re here,” she said, sitting up. She picked up the papers and focused back on them, trying to ignore me.
“You should take a break,” I said, gently taking the papers from her.
“But I still have to go through this. It’s important. I need to finish it before giving my feedback. Father might ask about it tomorrow,” she replied, attempting to take the papers back.
“I know, but you need rest—lots of it. This is Alpha Christian’s company, right?” I asked, noticing the discomfort on her face when his name came up.
“Yes, I need to see if they’re worth our investment,” she said, still uneasy.

“I get it, but Alpha Christian is probably sleeping right now, while you’re here stressing yourself over his company. You should take a break too. It’s late p>
“I doubt that,” she replied, then quickly shifted her gaze, as if she hadn’t meant to say it.
“I mean, no one should sleep when his company is on the verge of collapsing. It’s not like I know him or his personality well enough to judge,” she said, trying to hide the hesitation in her voice.
“Well, I never said you knew him. I’m just saying you should take a break now,” I said, forcing a smile.
She always seemed uncomfortable whenever his name came up, and I couldn’t help but wonder why.
Emily’s POV
Two weeks later
“So, what do you think about Alpha Christian’s proposal? I heard you gave him two weeks, and I’m sure you have your answers ready,” Mr. Mico said.
“I do, Dad. I think we should give them a try. Let’s invest in them. I’ve gone through the company’s past accomplishments and everything else necessary, and I’m confident that they’re worth the trial p>
