We walked into the seating room to find Mr. Mico patiently waiting for us with his son, a wide grin on his face.
“You are welcome,” he said, ignoring my outstretched hand and instead pulling me into a hug. He smiled warmly.
I strained my neck slightly, checking to see if Emily was nearby.
“She will be here soon. You know how women take their time to get ready,” he said with a smile.
I let out a sigh of relief upon hearing that and we immediately made our way to the dining table. Emily appeared almost immediately, looking as beautiful as always. Her face was one I would always want to see. I missed her so much and wished I could take her into my arms right then, but I had to hold back the urge.
“Good evening, everyone,” she greeted before sitting next to Tristan, who wouldn’t take his eyes off her.
“We can eat now,” Mr. Mico said as soon as she was settled.
I glared at my mother and Sheela, who were seated next to me, as they mumbled under their breath.
“Now that we’re done eating, it’s time to get down to business,” Mr. Mico said with a smile.
We all settled into his huge living room, everyone focused on him as he spoke.
“Over to you, Emily. You gave him the date and the deadline, so you should be the one to deliver the news,” he said, leaning back in his chair.
“Well, after giving it much thought and reviewing your company’s profile, past successes, and all other important factors, we’ve made a decision to…” She paused, and I couldn’t help but stare at her lips as she spoke. But then I smiled, as it was good news, a new opportunity for me as well.
“Help your company get back on its feet, and in return, we will become a major shareholder in your company,” she said.

I couldn’t contain my excitement. “Really? I promise not to disappoint you now or in the future,” I said, smiling.
“We hope so,” she said with a straight face.

Vivienne’s POV
“Isn’t this good news?” Sheela asked as soon as we walked into my room. I had asked her to come with me so we could discuss the situation, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about what was about to happen.
“Do you think it is?” I asked with a cold expression.
“Of course it is. In fact, it’s the best news I’ve received in a long time. Once she’s married to Tristan—or whatever his name is—Christian will have no other choice but to come my way p>
“Doesn’t that make sense? You get what you want, and I get what I want. Christian will end up with me, and he’ll forget about that girl for good. It’s an advantage for us. We don’t even have to get our hands dirty this time. It will be clean, effortless,” she said, still grinning.
