“Get back here, you fool!” I yelled, trying to run after him.
Emily’s POV
I walked into the Moonlight Mansion angrily. If Christian had just stayed in his office like he was supposed to, I wouldn’t be this confused and disturbed.
But he didn’t even seem bothered. It was as if he had planned everything, and now everything was unfolding exactly as he had intended.
“Do you want to run after him?” he asked, pulling me back just as I was about to go after Tristan, who had stormed off in anger after finding us in a questionable position.
His silence was troubling, and anyone in my shoes would be just as worried—if not more.
I had tried calling him, but he wouldn’t answer. He hadn’t even replied to my messages.
I really didn’t want to disappoint Tristan, but then there was Christian, who also wasn’t willing to take any chances. This was the worst situation I had ever been in.
I needed to see Tristan before he got the wrong idea about what he had seen earlier. I had to explain, even if it meant lying. He didn’t deserve to find out about me and Christian like this.
He deserved a proper explanation of everything that had happened in the past, but I wasn’t ready to give it yet. I was afraid of disappointing him.
And how could I explain anything when I was still so confused about what I felt for either of them? I didn’t even know who to choose.
“Amira,” Christian called as he walked into my room without knocking.
Thank goodness I was fully dressed.
“What do you want this time? And don’t you know how to knock?” I snapped, glaring at him.
“Knocking is just a formality. This is my mansion, and I can enter any room whenever I feel like it. But are you going somewhere?” he asked, staring at my clothes with a frown.

“I’m not a child, Alpha Christian,” I said, grabbing my bag from the bed and making my way to the door, but he was quick enough to stop me.
“Are you really going?” he asked, sounding disappointed.

“Do you really want to come between us for your own selfish reasons? They were merciful enough to offer help for your company, and you think the best thing to do is snatch Tristan’s fiancée away from him because of whatever we had in the past?” I asked angrily.
“Are you finally admitting that you’re Amira?” he asked instead.
