“Everyone in my mansion, my pack, has their own decisions to make. She has the freedom to decide where she wants to be,” I replied, standing firm in my stance.
Sheela’s POV
“Can’t you do it more carefully?” I snapped at the maid who was tending to the injury on my face.
That perverted fool had to leave a mark on my face before dying. I’m glad he’s gone, anyway.
The men who were with us while we walked into the forest searched for him, including myself. We were lucky enough to hear a shrill sound coming from deeper in the forest. When we reached the source, we found his clothes torn to pieces, with a trail of blood leading toward a dangerous area. This could only mean that he’s gone for good. A wild animal probably took his body after tearing him apart. I’m glad he’s finally gone for good.
“Sheela,” Luna Vivienne called as she entered my room. She sounded curious, but paused when she saw the maids working on my face.
“What happened to your face?” she asked, looking startled.
“You all can leave now. I’ll take it from here,” I said, dismissing the maids.
“What happened to your face? And what about that fool Adrian? Did you complete the task?” she asked.
“I got this wound in the process, but he’s gone for good. You don’t have to worry,” I replied.
“That’s a good thing,” she said, holding her chest in relief.
“I hope you confirmed his death yourself. I mean, did you bury his body?” she asked. “We wouldn’t want him to come back from the dead like Amira did. Or would you want that to happen p>
“Of course not…” I said, feeling uneasy.
“What’s the problem?” she asked, taking note of my worried expression.
I hadn’t considered this from the beginning. There’s no way he would come back from the dead. I made sure I stabbed him well, and even though he ran away in pain, the pieces of his clothing are enough proof that he was eaten by a wild animal.
“Well, it’s not really an issue,” I said, clearing the lump in my throat.
“Then why is your face like that? Don’t tell me you didn’t do the job properly,” she said.
“No, I stabbed him in the back, and he did this to me. While I was trying to get over the pain, he ran away, but my men were quick to follow him. When we got to a dangerous part of the forest, we found his clothing on the ground. It was torn to pieces, and there were trails of blood leading to a very dangerous place p>
“We had to retreat after hearing his shrill scream and a monster growling nearby. I’m sure he got dragged away by a wild animal, torn to pieces. There’s no way he could have survived that, so I’m convinced he’s dead,” I said convincingly.
“Really?” she asked, looking joyful, and I nodded in response.
“You’ve done well, Sheela. You’ve removed a major problem from our lives. I’m so proud of you. Now, all our efforts have been crowned with success p>
“I’m glad you’re happy, and I’m even more happy that the one who thought he was above us is now six feet beneath the ground with his body scattered p>
