Chapter 81:
“Mind the way you address her,” Tristan said, walking up to her. In a moment, she dragged Amira to her side protectively.
“For now, I have no business with you, and I have nothing to say to you because you aren’t my son. I only have business with him, not you or anyone from your pack,” she said.
“Luna Vivienne, the pack doctor is here as you have instructed,” one of the guards said, escorting the doctor to us.
“My Lord and Lady,” he said, bowing his head.
“I want to have a check-up on her and tell us if she is pregnant or not,” she said, keeping her eyes on me.
I guess she still thinks that all of this is nothing but a lie, but it was actually true. And I’m glad it is because Alpha Christian would finally be mine. After a lot of sacrifices and patience, this is good news to me.
Everywhere was quiet, and even the drop of a pin could be heard.
“My Lord, she is pregnant, she has another life growing inside of her, my Lord,” he finally said, making Luna Vivienne and me breathe out in relief.
“See, the doctor has confirmed it himself. Do you now believe it?” she asked with a smile.
“This can’t be,” Christian said, looking confused.
“It actually is. I won at last, and you finally became mine.” “Congratulations, my Lord,” the elders of the pack chorused in excitement.

“Congratulations, Alpha Christian,” Amira said before walking away with Mr. and Tristan, along with a boy whom I didn’t get to see his face.
Alpha Christian’s POV

I stood motionless as Amira walked out of the mansion. I didn’t have the courage to call her back or make her believe me. I tried so hard to win back her heart, but in the end, I took her for granted.
It took me a long time to prepare for this. I wanted to surprise the woman my heart yearns for, to make her happy. I thought my dreams of spending forever with her would come true, but all of it vanished into thin air because of one mistake I made.
This mistake has cost me her trust, the love she once had for me, and the hope we shared of being together forever. Everything is lost, and now, I’m back to square one.
She left me once before. I did everything I could to win her back, and just when I thought I had succeeded, the mistake I failed to fix came back and shattered everything. I guess I saw this coming, but I thought I could avert it. Instead, I’ve ended up sinking into a pit I don’t know how to climb out of.
How will my life be without Amira? How do I move forward from here? Why would my own mother not want my happiness? These are questions I need answers to, but I have no one to ask, and no one to give me the answers I seek.
“Congratulations, Alpha Christian,” the elders chorused again. My eyes narrowed as I looked at Sheela’s father. My mom had brought him in, asking that I make him an elder over the others in the pack.
I was naive back then and did what my mother instructed me to. It seemed like a small request, and it didn’t cost me anything.
