“You won’t be home late for dinner, will you?” Riana asked, watching her husband as he got ready.
After breakfast, Althea had been persuaded to return to the right-wing pavilion by Riana. Her condition was still unstable, and despite Althea’s repeated assurances that she was fine, Riana couldn’t shake the fear that
something might go wrong.
Meanwhile, Josh and Grace had started their online classes-just like Eli.
The house moved in a calm, steady rhythm, yet it felt busier than usual. Still, little by little, the warmth and liveliness that once filled the home were beginning to return.
“Yes. Cale and Chris will be back tonight too,” Nathan replied.
He stood before the large mirror, adjusting the dark, well-tailored suit that gave him a sharp, formal look. The seriousness in his expression made it clear-today was no ordinary workday.
“So… everything they were handling is settled?” Riana asked, curiosity flickering in her eyes.
“Yes. I believe so.” Nathan gave a faint smile.
Standing close behind him, Riana reached up to straighten his tie, her movements gentle but precise. “It’s a little crooked,” she murmured, tugging lightly at the lower end before smoothing it again until it lay perfectly straight.
Nathan dipped his chin slightly, making it easier for her to adjust.
“Thank you,” he said after a moment.
Riana met his gaze through the mirror. “Are you going straight to Daven’s office, or to your own p>
Nathan let out a quiet breath. “There are a few urgent matters that need attention at Daven’s office. The Callister Group isn’t truly stable yet. The impact of Bret’s financial manipulation is still lingering. But I’ve scheduled a meeting at TnC Group, so I probably won’t be going to Daven’s office today p>
He picked up his watch from the table and fastened it around his wrist with measured movements.
“Some partners have started questioning the fund flow there. Several investors are holding back their decisions. Most of them are my associates. If this isn’t handled quickly, market confidence could drop even further p>
Riana nodded slowly. She understood exactly what that meant.
“I’m sure Daven can handle it,” Nathan continued, “but this time, he can’t do it alone. What Bret did really shake the Callister Group’s finances p>
“Whoever’s behind all of this,” Riana said quietly, her voice firm, “they’ll have to pay a very high price p>
“Yes,” Nathan agreed shortly. “I’ll help from the network side-old connections, financial relations. At the very least, it should help stabilize the market for now p>
They fell silent for a few seconds. Then Nathan turned to her, his expression growing more serious.
“There’s one more thing,” he said.

Riana lifted an eyebrow. “What is it p>
Nathan looked at her directly. “Today, try to keep the kids away from the news. No television. Limit their phone use and their access to online media too.” His hand reached up, gently cupping her cheek, his thumb brushing over her skin in a slow, reassuring stroke.
Riana stilled, absorbing the warmth of the gesture even as a question formed in her mind. “But why p>
Nathan drew a breath, as if choosing his words carefully. “It’s a request from Cale p>
Her brow furrowed deeper. “A request?” she repeated.
Nathan nodded. “He didn’t explain much. Just said something would come out in the media today. And he doesn’t want the children to see it p>
Riana studied his face for a few seconds. “And you don’t know what’s going to happen?” she asked.
Nathan shook his head slowly. “Not in detail.” He paused before continuing.
“Honestly, I don’t like this either. Keeping something from the family isn’t something I’m comfortable with. But if Cale is asking for this… then he must be preparing something big p>
Riana understood immediately. If Cale had gone this far, the situation was no small matter. And whatever was coming would likely carry consequences-ones that might not be easy to handle.
“So… this could be part of protecting them?” she murmured.
Nathan nodded. “Most likely p>
Riana let out a long breath. “Alright,” she said at last. “I’ll make sure the kids stay away from the news today.” She paused, then added softly, “I’ll keep an eye on Althea too. Her pregnancy is still early. I don’t want her getting stressed over something unnecessary p>
Nathan’s expression softened. “That’s the right decision p>
