She reached for the glass of water on the table and finished it in one long sip. Just as she was about to stand, her phone vibrated softly on the table. The screen lit up with a name she knew very well.

Lydia let out a short breath before opening the message.
Come meet me.
Just two words. No explanation. No follow-up. Lydia lifted an eyebrow slightly. It wasn’t unusual for her boyfriend to send messages like that, but still…
She quickly typed a reply.

A few seconds later, a response appeared.

Lydia suppressed a small smile. She reached for the bottle of mineral water on the table and refilled her glass. Even though she worked indoors, she made a point of keeping herself hydrated. Dehydration was the last thing she needed in the middle of a workday.

That place wasn’t just any restaurant. Most people had to make reservations days in advance just to get a table. Everyone in SunCity knew the hotel standing proudly in the heart of the city. From the floor where Lydia worked, the building was clearly visible. Its striking, bright blue with a pointed top like a fountain pen-made it impossible to miss. And beyond its appearance, the hotel was famous for the luxury it
offered.
And Cale wanted to have lunch there?
The contrast between their lives was almost absurd.
Since the beginning of their relationship, Lydia had always been a little skeptical. Their backgrounds were worlds apart. But Cale never seemed to care.

The elevator she was guided in was reserved exclusively for guests heading to the upper floors. Moments later, it carried her all the way to the thirtieth floor.
“This way,” the staff member said as the elevator doors opened.
Lydia simply followed him down the corridor until they reached the far end. The large wooden door there slowly opened.
And inside, Cale was already seated comfortably.
His black shirt sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. One arm rested casually along the back of his chair, his expression far too calm for someone who had summoned another person to such a luxurious place just for lunch.
The moment Cale saw her, a faint smile appeared on his lips. He rose from his seat and walked over until he was standing directly in front of Lydia. Somehow, the staff member who had escorted her earlier had already disappeared.
