“You’re right.” Daven pressed a gentle kiss to the side of her head. “We talked about Eli’s school before, didn’t we p>
“Yes.” Althea remembered their conversation from a few days earlier, when Daven had first mentioned finding a new school for Eli.
“That school is still the best option,” Daven said.
Althea studied him. “You’ve checked everything p>
“Of course.” His tone was calm but certain. “The environment is good. Their monitoring system is strict. She’ll be able to focus on studying without attracting unnecessary attention. And… Selena doesn’t know about this school p>
He paused briefly.
“Unlike Saint Loisse. She knew Eli was studying there. Who knows what Selena might try to do p>
Althea drew in a quiet breath.
She had already told Eli that the girl didn’t need to feel burdened about staying at the Miller house. Giving her a new routine might help Eli feel like her life had direction again.
“Do you think she’ll be ready for all of this?” Althea asked softly.
“Not immediately,” Daven replied honestly.
Althea smiled faintly at his answer.
“But I think she’ll try,” he continued. “Didn’t you notice the determination in her eyes when she talked about a new school that would actually nurture her talents p>
Althea looked at him for a few seconds.
“You’re right p>
Daven straightened slightly. “So… what would my wife like to eat this morning? I’ll order room service p>
He stepped over to the small table beside the bed. “I don’t want you skipping breakfast. We’ll just eat here in the room. Do you mind p>
Althea shook her head with a bright smile. “Not at all. Whatever you choose, I’ll eat it. I don’t think I’m picky with food during this pregnancy p>

Daven chuckled softly.
While her husband spoke to the hotel’s room service, Althea found herself thinking about several things.
Including one idea.
“Daven,” she called once he seemed to have finished ordering their breakfast.
“Yes, darling?” His attention returned to her immediately.
“I want to take Eli to see that school p>
“Today?” Daven asked in surprise. Althea’s suggestion had come out of nowhere.
“Yes p>
Daven thought for a moment before nodding. “That’s a good idea. I’ll have someone accompany you p>
Althea turned slightly to face him. “You’re not coming p>
Daven let out a quiet sigh, his gaze soft as it rested on her. “I have to meet Richard before lunch p>
Althea had already guessed as much. A meeting with Richard was almost certainly related to the latest developments in Selena and Harold’s case. There was no way Daven could postpone something that
urgent.
“I can handle it,” Althea said gently. “You don’t have to worry p>
Daven looked at her with quiet affection. “I know p>
Althea gave a small smile. “I hope Eli likes the school p>
Daven reached for her hand again. “She won’t just like it,” he said calmly. “She’ll start building her life
there p>
Althea looked at her husband, confidence settled in her chest. For the first time since all the chaos had begun, Eli’s future no longer felt uncertain. There was finally a clear path ahead.
And today, they would take the first step toward it.
“In that case, I’ll prepare your clothes. Go take a shower,” Althea said, lightly pushing her husband’s shoulder.
“Me? Shower alone?” Daven pouted. “Can’t you join me p>
Althea rolled her eyes. “If I shower with you, it’ll take three hours, Daven. Breakfast will be cold, and Arsen will probably have called you ten times already p>
Daven laughed and picked up his phone, showing it to her.

He stood and extended his hand toward her.
“Care to join me for that shower p>
Althea couldn’t stop laughing, but there was no way she could refuse him.
“Just tell room service that once they deliver breakfast, they should leave immediately and not disturb
us p>
