Melanie stood frozen, her face drained of color, while Clyde escorted Gwyneth to the VIP section, sending a fresh wave of shocked gasps through the crowd behind them.
“Look! She’s really sitting up front with Clyde–that’s definitely Mrs. Lopez, no doubt about it! someone said.
What kind of lousy party is this? There are only a handful of VIP seats. Are the rest of us just supposed to stand around all night or what?” another one complained
“The people in the front row are in a whole different league from us. Just lening you stand at the back to recognize their faces is already a mercy a woman explained.
Melanie nood in the back row, watching Gwyneth sit calmly in the front. Why does Gwyneth get all the advantages when we share the same father? I just want to find someone to cry with, she thought, feeling unfairly treated.
Turning around, Melanie saw Adrian’s gaze still fixed on Gwyneth. Her own eyes widened in disbelief. ‘Is she really that captivating?” she wondered bitterly.
Adrian was completely oblivious to Melanie’s glare. Only after catching the murmurs in the crowd did it finally dawn on him. She really was Gwyneth. He never would have guessed she had such a sharp tongue.
After this emotional rollercoaster, Adrian found Gwyneth even more intriguing and couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Behind them, neither Bella nor Zachary had expected that the mysterious woman they’d just seen was actually Harrison’s newlywed wife. Zachary had come specifically to secure a partnership with the Lopez Group, hoping to finally get his family off his back.

To Zachary’s shock, Bella wrenched her hand free, her eyes flashing with madness. If I could just let her know that Harrison is keeping a mistress; she thought, ‘Gwyneth would be absolutely doomed.
Skipping all pleasantries, Bella cut straight to the chase. “Mrs. Lopez, there are other women around Mr. Lopez You’d better keep an eye out. “Bella” Zachary tried to stop her, but it was already too late
Gwyneth turned hack with amused interest. “Someone?” she asked, her voice deliberately low. Bella didn’t catch the undertone, mistaking Mrs. Lopez’s response as genuine curiosity, and was just about to elaborate.
The main doors at the backswung open again. “Mr. Lopez” someone in the crowd called out. Instantly, every head turned in unison.
Harrison lead clearly rushed straight from the office. His light gray business suit was impeccable as always, but his usually immaculate hair was sliglatly disheveled from haste. That icy gaze of his instantly softened the moment it landed on Gwyneth
“My apologies, Harrison said for his brief delay. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he used his well–defined hands to smooth out the wrinkles in his wait, then quickened his pace toward Gwyneth.
A collective gasp swept through the crowd. ‘Since when did the famously aloof Harrison become this affectionate with his wife? As Zachary watched Harrison’s devoted attention to Mrs. Lopez, a bitter pang of jealousy twisted in his chest.
Gwennic, you’d rather be that devoted Harrison’s stress than come back to me? Zachary thought.
