Although I believed that Irvin had an ulterior motive when he said he would transfer all his assets to me, he most likely thought that I was still the same as before and couldn’t bear to see him being treated unfairly.
He might have thought that as long as he showed me enough love would give in and listen to him without needing him to actually do anything. That I would do whatever he asked me to do.
In the end, he wouldn’t have to pay any price to have ine withdraw the lawsuit and publicly declare that Julianne was innocent.
He never truly intended to give me all his assets.
However, this wouldn’t stop me from my sweet goal of making sure he would leave our marriage with nothing to his name. Both he and Julianne would suffer in misery.
As I listened to music, I drifted to sleep in a great mood.
I felt that no matter what Irvin was plotting, I wouldn’t be losing out on this. However, I forgot that whenever Irvin told me to wait, it had never led to something good.
Just like before, I had waited but never gotten his companionship at every important moment of my life. This time also, I didn’t get what I was waiting for.
He didn’t show up with his lawyer to sign the asset transfer documents or the divorce agreement. Instead, the second I woke up, my world collapsed.
I was woken up by the urgent ringing of my phone.
In my daze, I answered the call and heard Mr. Stern say that Julianne had been acquitted. I was still half–asleep–not fully registering what he said–and could only mumble in response.
Then, suddenly, I snapped awake.
“What did you say?” I sprang up into a sitting position in shock.
As Mr. Stern realized I had just woken up and wasn’t fully awake, he repeated. “Julianne had been acquitted.”
I was at a loss for words.
I never would have thought that after just one night’s sleep, Julianne’s definite crime could be overturned so easily.
“What happened? Why was she acquitted?”
It had been confirmed that Julianne had orchestrated the incident; she wanted to have video evidence of me drugging her. How was she acquitted?
“According to the evidence that your husband, Mr. Sawyer, had provided, the police had confirmed that Julianne didn’t deliberately edit the video to frame you. Someone had really sent her the video two years ago,” Mr. Stern explained.
He added, “Although she misunderstood that you wanted to hurt her after watching the video, she only brought it up to your parents and husband and had never spread it. She also never accused you of trying to harm her or explicitly said she wanted you to be jailed.
“So, after proving that she didn’t edit the video, our charges of her false accusation wouldn’t be valid anymo investigation, she was indeed the victim…”

To put it simply, Julianne didn’t plan to use this incident to sabotage my relationship with Irvin or want him to hurt me as she couldn’t stand to see me being happy.
She also didn’t join forces with Dad to scheme against me, while she climbed into Phillip’s bed. They didn’t record the video of me appearing to have drugged her to make Irvin misunderstand and hurt me.

And she didn’t plan with Dad to make him bring me to the hotel. Our meeting there was completely a coincidence! Tulfanne really had been drugged that night. But the person who did it wasn’t me or herself. It was Phillip !
