Still I hoped God would take away Irvin’s life soon. That way, I would become a rich widow overnight. However, I didn’t get what I hoped for. It seemed God favored Irvin because I didn’t get to see that scoundrel leave this earth.
The doctor had said Irvin would remain in a coma forever if he didn’t wake up within the next 24 hours. Not only did he wake up, but he did so without any complications. And to top it off, he had even lost his memory.
It seemed Irvin’s memories had regressed to four years ago when his love for me was the strongest. He had even forgotten all the cruel things he had done to me. Instead, he only remembered how much he loved me and how well he treated me. 1
In his mind, we had just graduated from college. We had collected our graduation certificates and marriage certificate on the same day.
It was also around then that the rebellious and free–spirited Irvin decided to launch his startup. He had decided to give his all and work hard. After all, he wanted to provide me with the best life had to offer as soon as possible. Back then, I had been so moved by Irvin’s gesture that I immediately sold the company I had inherited from my aunt. I invested all the profit into his startup to support him. I had even given up on graduate school so I could focus singularly on taking care of his health.
I had sacrificed my own future just so I could devote myself entirely to supporting him.
Irvin had been deeply moved by my commitment too. His love for me was so strong at that time that he would have followed me to the ends of the earth. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for me.
That version of him was a fresh college graduate who was full of zealous youth. He didn’t have the haughty and powerful air that he did now.
And that was why, Irvin immediately limped over to my hospital room the moment he was able to move.
The second I met his passionate gaze, I instantly knew something was wrong.
“Babe, why didn’t you come to see me when I was injured?” he asked with a pout.
Irvin’s weepy eyes had a hint of youthful naivety. The confusion on his face was apparent. He felt as though he had awoken from a nap, yet four years had passed. He didn’t even know how he had gotten injured, but all that didn’t matter to him.
The only thing that mattered to him was that I–his beloved wife who loved him most–wasn’t by his side when he woke up.
He found this unbelievable and impossible to believe. I loved him and cherished him so much. I used to get heartbroken over his smallest injuries. Yet now, he had been hospitalized, and I wasn’t even concerned.
I felt something was off about Irvin. But since I had no idea what was going on with him, I stared at him like he was a lunatic. It wasn’t until Landon came in that I realized what was wrong with him.
Landon told me how Irvin had lost his memories from the past four years and was mentally back to whe just gotten married.
I couldn’t help laughing at the irony.
I heard he had to have surgery on his abdomen and that he had also grazed his head. So how could he have

Also had it always been so easy to get amnesia? I had gotten it after sustaining serious injuries, yet Irvin did too “even though his injuries were minor.
This made me suspect he was faking it. He knew I would never forgive him, nor would I give him another chance because he had forced me into harm’s way yet again. Plus, he probably couldn’t bring himself to face me and beg for forgiveness, not when he was now aware of the weight of his actions.
That was why he was pretending to have lost his memories. Irvin was trying to deny everything he had done to me over the past four years his distrust in me, the way he emotionally abused me, and how he allowed those around him to humiliate me.
Irvin also wanted to forget how he had ignored my desperate pleas and insisted on trading my life for Julianne’s. It was only by doing so that he would be able to appear before me again. And the reason he chose to regress to four years ago was so he could try to salvage our marriage.
It was the year we were the most madly in love with each other. We had just gotten married, and it was when Irvin’s love for me was the strongest. Likewise, it was also the time when I was so blindly in love with him that I brainlessly gave up on everything else.
Thus, he chose this period because he intended to bring back the love I once had for him.
Unbothered by the way I was staring at him, Irvin spoke. “Babe, Landon told me I’ve done something wrong and made you upset. That’s why you’re ignoring me. I don’t know what it is I’ve done, but it doesn’t matter.”
His gaze softened as he implored, “You can hit me and yell at me. And if that isn’t enough to soothe your anger, you can even stab me a few times too. Just please, don’t ignore me. You know how much I love you and can’t live without you.”
