ryn met my gaze upon hearing what Julianne said. When he saw that she was speaking the truth, his grip on the “pen tightened.
Julianne had always been good at noticing Irvin’s subtle reactions. She felt a glimmer of hope when she saw the way he was acting. She thought Irvin had believed her again this time.
Noticing the subtle movement too, I sneered and was about to say something
However, Irvin extracted his arm from Julianne’s hold and stared at her. Then, he huffed and sardonically said, Do you think I’m an idiot just because I treat you like a sister, Lianne?”
Julianne froze. I, too, was shocked. Neither of us had expected Irvin to say that.
Her eyes quickly filled with tears once she realized what was happening.
“How could you say that about me, Irvin? I’m only doing this for your own good!” she cried as her tears fell.
Despite saying this, she couldn’t resist cursing him inwardly . It wasn’t that she thought he was an idiot–he actually was one!
Other people fought viciously over assets when getting a divorce while he was here giving me everything. There wasn’t anyone as foolish as him in this world.

“For my own good?” Irvin scoffed. “You told me you had visited Emi right after she had fallen off the cliff. You claimed she had knocked you out when you tried to apologize to her and comfort her. She could barely move then, so tell me, how could she have knocked you unconscious?”
Julianne was stunned by his words. She immediately paled.
She had defamed me in front of Irvin so many times that she had forgotten what she had said. Now that she was suddenly exposed like this, she didn’t know how to react.
After a long silence, she finally stammered out, “B–Back then, I thought Millie had d–drugged me. S–So I–That’s why I s–slandered her…”
“Is that so? Then what about now? All the misunderstandings have been cleared up, so why are you still slandering her?” Irvin questioned with a sneer.
He had seen the way I had pleaded with him to let me go. So, he could never believe I was the mastermind behind Julianne’s recent kidnapping.
If I had such acting skills and genuinely desired to harm her, I would have never allowed myself to get hurt in the process. This was why Irvin felt Julianne thought he was a fool, seeing as she had the guts to tell such bald–faced

It was true that he had tightened his grip on the pen earlier after meeting my gaze. However, it was because he suddenly felt intense hatred for himself for how foolish he had been before.
How could he have blindly believed everything Julianne said? It had led him to hurt me so badly that I had forgotten him and the love I had for him. This was why I was now able to coldly part from him.
Irvin had also suspected I was acting so heartless toward him because I had amnesia. However, I had denied it and
had successfully convinced him of it.
That being said, he couldn’t accept how stupid he had been. He had hurt me in so many ways yet he couldn’t face

what he had done. What was more, he had chosen to avoid by forgetting everything he had done over the past four years.
“Irvin mentally replayed the events over the last four years. The more he thought about it, the more he was sure I
had lost my memories.
I had amnesia and as a result, forgot the love I had for him. This was the only explanation for why I was capable of being so heartless and unfeeling toward him now.
He was even more sure of this when he had met my emotionless gaze earlier. However, this only fueled his hatred of his past stupidity.
I had been lying there wrapped like a mummy when he first saw me in the hospital. I even had all sorts of machines hooked up to me then. Yet, he had stubbornly refused to believe I was actually injured just because Julianne claimed I had knocked her out. 1
How blind and moronic could he be?
Irvin had never questioned Julianne in such a manner nor had he looked so piercingly at her before. Hence , she couldn’t help feeling a little uneasy.
