Tryk stood there, watching me turn and leave without hesitation. He watched me get into the car and drive away until I was completely out of sight,
His heart suddenly felt like it had a hole in it, allowing the wind and snow to rush in. He staggered, almost unatte to stand properly.
Although he would never allow what he feared to happen, my determination terrified him. He was afraid that after this separation, there would be no more chances between us
He was truly scared of that happening.
Snowflakes landed softly on his face.
Looking at the snow, he suddenly recalled the Christmas Eve before Julianne returned from abroad.
That night, the snowfall was just as heavy as it was now. Since I had always loved the snow, a white Christmas was absolutely perfect. It was so romantic.
I insisted on walking to the restaurant to enjoy the scenery along the way. As always, he listened to me and happily held my hand as we walked to the restaurant.
The snow was falling heavily. Soon, our heads were covered in a layer of white snow.
He still remembered how I looked up at him playfully and joked, “Babe, look at us. Don’t we look like a couple growing old together?”
I was so irresistibly cute that he couldn’t help but lean down and kiss me. At that moment, he thought we didn’t need the snow to fake it and that we would certainly grow old together, hand in hand.
We would be happy everyday, just like that day.
He had been so sure that we would grow old together. Who would have thought we would only last two more years?
Two agonizingly painful years.
Not only did he fail to keep the vows he made on our wedding day–to treat me well and make me the happiest woman in the world–but he also made my life unbearably painful and nearly killed me more than once.
He couldn’t help but see himself as trash.
He was so trashy that even he himself thought he no longer deserved to be with me. And he felt that he deserved it if his fear came true in the end.
When Julianne found out that after she left, Irvin had not only given me all his assets but also planned to work for me for the rest of his life, she furiously went to confront him .
By the time she reached his hospital room, Irvin was handling work matters on his hospital bed.
After his injury, he had refused to rest properly and had continuously suffered deliberately, worsening his condition.
He had collapsed in front of the courthouse that day. So, Landon and Quinton had no choice but to forcibly admit

When Julianne walked in, Irvin glanced at her briefly before lowering his head again.
“Irvin! Why are you doing this to yourself?” Julianne said angrily.
She couldn’t believe how foolish he was. He had actually given all his wealth to me. Had he not considered what would happen to himself or to her if he gave away everything?
Irvin ignored her.
Julianne suddenly remembered how he had once said he treated her like a sister, yet she had taken him as a fool. Her anger instantly ceased.
“Irvin, are you still mad at me?” she asked, trying a different approach. “I really didn’t mean to frame Millie. I really thought that what I said was the truth. Otherwise, tell me, why was she the only one unharmed in the kidnapping?”
Irvin didn’t want to hear her explanation anymore. “Just leave if you have nothing important to say.”
Julianne knew she should give Irvin some space for a few days. She could see him again and try to persuade him, once he had calmed down.
