had watched helplessly from the speedboat as the cruise ship blew apart and Irvin perished with it. Then, my memories of him suddenly came rushing back. I remembered the overwhelming love I had for him.
At the time, my emotions had been so intense and uncontrollable. However, I didn’t feel the same surge of emotions now that I was awake.
I didn’t know how to describe how I was feeling. It was a mixture of pain and sorrow. I wanted to cry, and I also wished Irvin was still alive.
However, unlike on the speedboat, the feeling wasn’t unbearable. And I wasn’t wishing I had been in Irvin’s place on the ship instead.
Despite having my memories back, I hadn’t reverted to my past self–the one who loved Irvin so deeply that she couldn’t live without him. However, I also wasn’t the version of myself who hated him because of the amnesia.
I had no idea how I felt about him now, but it honestly didn’t matter. All I cared about was that he might still be alive. He couldn’t have died for me just like that.

Quinton couldn’t believe I had been sad for only a brief moment before returning to normal. It made him think
that what Irvin had done wasn’t worth it.

I stayed silent because I had no idea what to say in response

Irvin had planted several bombs all over the cruise ship to ensure a smooth escape after the mission was completed. Because of this, the ship was blown apart into a pile of rubble, along with the people onboard.
There might be a few survivors, but it was apparent that many had perished as the sea was littered with burnt, dismembered bodies. Any of these floating pieces could be him.
Quinton felt tears prick his eyes at the thought.
Looking at me, he said, “I really don’t get what’s so good about you. You’re just a woman, so it’s no big deal if you’re gone. There’s plenty out there to replace you, so why were you the one Irvin had to have? Why did he sacrifice himself just to save you? He really was an idiot.”
He couldn’t understand why Irvin would go so far for me. How could Irvin have acted so recklessly just for my sake, to the point where he didn’t even leave an intact corpse behind?
I didn’t understand it either. Irvin had clearly ignored, humiliated, and harmed me. Yet, he had blown himself to pieces to save me.
Quinton continued, “Irvin was prepared to die when he went to rescue you. He even arranged everything in the company for you in case he didn’t make it back.
“Irvin loved you so much, Emilia. He just… He turned a blind eye to you because of a misunderstanding and didn’t
