Chapter 263
The teacup clattered loudly against the floor, drawing everyone’s attention to me.
However, I was still frozen in shock. My body was trembling involuntarily as I stared at the man in the wheelchair.
“Irvin…” The name slipped from my lips.
I had a strong urge to walk closer to the man so I could see his face more clearly.
Just as I was about to do so, the pregnant woman blocked my path.

Then , she looked at me gently and said, “I think you’re mistaken, Ms. Quill. This is my husband, Timothy Hardwell.”
I snapped out of my daze with a jerk and reflexively looked at Timothy. I unconsciously took a step back when our eyes met , as his gaze felt utterly unfamiliar.
Irvin would never look at me like that.
Could it be that Timothy wasn’t Irvin? But if he wasn’t, why did they look exactly alike? Aside from his unfamiliar gaze, Timothy looked identical to Irvin in every other way!
I wanted to say something, but I couldn’t find the words.
The Hardwells were a noble family that had lived in Lestoria for centuries. They were the wealthiest family in the city as well as all of Andnia. Not only that, many of their family members were also political leaders.
As such, it was impossible to impersonate the heir to such a prominent family.
However, two people couldn’t look exactly the same in this world unless they were twins, and Irvin was an only child.
Suddenly, I remembered what Irvin had told me when he had gotten drunk before.
He had been in so much confusion and pain then. He had genuinely felt Phillip was treating him well, yet why did it turn out to be fake? Why did Phillip treat him so well just so he would become useless to society?
Irvin couldn’t understand how Phillip had played pretend so convincingly. It had been to the extent where someone as sharp as him didn’t sense any insincerity. Phillip’s actions had been something he couldn’t figure out.
Let’s say Phillip had been genuine toward Irvin but later found out that Irvin wasn’t his biological child. Then, everything would
make sense.
That being said…
The Sawyers lived in Claudeville while the Hardwells resided in Lestoria. These cities were thousands of miles apart. Additionally , the Hardwells were an aristocratic family that had been around for centuries.
As such, the children of these families couldn’t possibly be switched at birth, especially when the heir to such a prominent family was involved,
If the head of the Hardwell family had given birth to twins, it was also even more impossible for one of them to have been misplaced without anyone knowing.
My thoughts were in disarray, so much so that my brain couldn’t keep up.
“Here are my husband’s medical records and previous test reports. Ms. Quill. Please have a look,” Mrs. Hardwell said. Her gentle and polite voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
I absentmindedly took the documents from her as I couldn’t take my eyes off Timothy.
Timothy noticed this and frowned.
Perhaps he thought I was unprofessional because he coldly said, “ We invited you here to assess my condition, Ms. Quill, not to

He even sounded like Irvin!
Before I could respond, Mrs. Hardwell walked up to him and gently patted his shoulder.
“Don’t speak like that, Timothy. Maybe she’s only staring at you because you look too much like someone she knows,” she soothed.
Timothy scoffed but didn’t say anything else, However, his expression clearly said there couldn’t possibly be someone who looked like him because he was unique.
The arrogant and flippant look on his face was just like Irvin’s. Their mannerisms shouldn’t be this much alike even if they were twins.
However, I didn’t look at Timothy again. Instead, I focused on examining the medical documents in my hand.
