Timothy quickly pressed his blanket down.
“I thrash around in my sleep,” he said. “You’re pregnant–what if hurt you?”

He had gained many memories of Mrs. Hardwell upon regaining consciousness. Despite this, he still felt something was amiss. As such, he didn’t want to be too close to her.
Plus, his body rejected being physically intimate with her even though she was his wife. For some reason, Timothy’s heart told him he shouldn’t allow Mrs. Hardwell to touch him–he would be sullied if he did.
Still smiling, Mrs. Hardwell replied, “You won’t.‘”
She was about to pull on the blanket again when Timothy yelled, Get out!”
Tears welled up in her eyes. She had never been treated so coldly before.
“I just want to take care of you at night, Tim. We’re husband and wife, aren’t we?”
Timothy knew she was right. They were married, so there was no reason they shouldn’t sleep in the same bed. That being said, he just couldn’t bring himself to accept it.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not used to sharing a bed with another person ever since my injury. So please, just wait until my legs are back to normal,” he implored.
Once his legs had recovered, and once he had figured out why he had those strange feelings, Timothy would fulfill his duties as a husband. He would do so regardless of whether he regained all of his memories of her.
Mrs. Hardwell glanced sadly at him before releasing the blanket. Her eyes had turned red with unshed tears.
“Okay,” she said dejectedly.
Then, she picked up her pillow and turned to leave.
Timothy sighed in relief. However, he also felt very guilty.
He had seen a copy of their marriage certificate, so he knew they were legally bound in matrimony. Thus, as her husband, he shouldn’t treat her this way, no matter what.
“I’m sorry , Grace,” he said softly. “I’ll make it up to you once I’ve fully recovered.”
Grace had just reached the door when he spoke. He could still see tears in her eyes when she glanced back at him.
Mustering up a smile, she said, “Okay.”
Like her name , Grace Keller was a woman who was blessed with naturally captivating good looks. Thus, her teary eyes were even more heart–wrenching to look at and only made one empathize with her more.
Because of this, Timothy’s guilt intensified.
Upon seeing that, Grace lowered her head to hide her look of satisfaction. Then , she opened the door and left.
Timothy’s attachment toward her would grow as the hypnosis–induced memories rooted deeper in his mind. Eventually, he would actually believe he was her husband.
As soon as the door shut behind her, her gaze turned into a fierce glower.
Her thoughts had wandered to how Timothy had lost consciousness because of the intense pain in his head. It only happened because he had seen me on the summit’s live stream.
Grace had been too careless.

She had invited me to examine his condition without doing a proper background check on me. If she had, she would have known I was Irvin’s ex –wife. Now that she knew , she absolutely couldn’t allow me to appear before him anymore.
Irvin–no , Timothy–was her husband now and the future head of the Hardwell family. And together, they would ascend to the top of the world!
With that in mind, Grace made a call as soon as she returned to her room. Once she had arranged a meeting with the person over the phone , she got ready for bed and went to sleep.
Once I had restored my repitation and stabilized my company, the first thing I did was contact the Hardwell family. Aside from wanting to treat Timothy’s legs, I also wanted to ascertain who he truly was.
However, their response was disheartening.
“Apologies, Ms. Quill , but Mr. Hardwell isn’t comfortable interacting with women other than his wife. As such , he doesn’t want to receive treatment from you. Instead, he would like a male member of your team to do it. He asks for your understanding and consideration.”
I frowned at the explanation.
When we last met, I was under the impression that Irvin was dead. hadn’t expected him. Because of this, I had been so rattled at the time that I was a little dazed.

Still, I had managed to stay composed. Timothy didn’t seem to be too annoyed with me, either. If anything, he even looked forward to receiving treatment after I had demonstrated my expertise.
So why did he suddenly deny me from treating him?
Something didn’t add up.
