“Emilia’s grandmother was in the emergency room for hours before they could stabilize her,” he said. “She suffered immensely because of the stunt you pulled. As for you? Your physical examination revealed you don’t even have a minor injury, despite what Emilia did to you!
“Emilia cares about her grandmother the most. So, it makes sense hat she lost control and struck you because you hurt one of the people she loves the most. And yet , she still went easy on you because she kept in mind that you just miscarried your son. If anything, she’s a lot kinder compared to you!”
Irvin never forgot how Timothy had saved his life. That being said, Timothy was his saviour , not Grace. He would help Grace seize back control of the Keller family if she played nicely. However, their deal was off if she didn’t.
“It wasn’t me. I didn’t-”
Grace reflexively tried to defend herself. But before she could finish , Irvin cut her off.
His voice was cold as he said, “Don’t try to deny it. Why else would you have flown all the way here from Lestoria? Why else would you have purposely come here just to see how much pain Emilia was in if you weren’t the one who orchestrated her grandmother’s incident?
“Stop trying to play the victim just because you’ve recently lost your baby , Grace. You brought this upon yourself!
“Despite your body’s weak state, you still thought about inflicting pain on others. So, you only have your maliciousness to blame! I’m warning you think carefully about your next move!” frvin scolded.
Agatha lost her cool before Grace could even respond to his harsh words. Grabbing the nearby teapot , she chucked it at Irvin. “You bastard! This is how you repay Tim for saving your life? By bullying Grace? Tim should’ve never sacrificed himself for someone like you!” Agatha shrieked.
Despite Irvin also being her son, she had never once seen him as her own. In fact , she despised him. And after learning he was the reason the son she loved had died, her hatred only deepened.
Dodging the teapot, Irvin coolly replied, “The same goes for you too, Agatha–make your next move wisely. I believe you don’t want Magnus to ship you off to a care facility, do you?”
Agatha’s behavior had become too erratic and crazy for Magnus to handle. Thus, he considered claiming she was ill as an excuse to send her away to a care facility and keep her confined there.
Magnus was a ruthless businessman, driven by pure self–interest. He didn’t feel deeply for his own sons, let alone his wife.
Agatha instantly paled at Irvin’s words.
“You… You…” she stammered.
She collapsed into a chair and broke down in tears as Irvin left.
“Oh, Tim… My son. My baby boy… Look at what you’ve done! You gave up your life to save such an ungrateful wretch!” she wailed. “Yet, not only did he humiliate your beloved wife, but he also bullied me too! Oh, my son! No one would dare treat me like this if you were still here!”
Her cries were filled with such pain , but Irvin’s departing footsteps never faltered.
Even though Agatha, Grace, and Magnus all claimed he had been switched at birth, he never believed them. Plus, Agatha’s disdain toward him only made him feel even more strongly that he had been intentionally discarded.
In other words, Irvin’s own birth mother had abandoned him and cast him aside. And since she didn’t want him, he didn’t owe her any affection.

Seeing Irvin heartlessly walk away , Grace’s hold on her blanket tightened.

Agatha might not see him as a son and had no maternal love for him, but Grace couldn’t help placing herself in Agatha’s shoes. She felt that , regardless of how Agatha had treated Irvin , he should still treat his birth mother right.
So when she saw how coldly he treated Agatha , her contempt for him only intensified. She finally understood why Agatha had abandoned him without a second thought all those years ago.
It was because Agatha already instinctively knew Irvin wasn’t someone worth keeping.
