I didn’t know if Gideon was already getting busy. Normally, he would answer right away whenever I called him, but this time the phone rang for quite a while before he finally picked up.
“Emi. ” His voice was still as sweet and tender as ever, just like usual.
However, knowing that he was probably holding another woman in his arms while speaking to me in that same gentle tone , it stirred up a mix of indescribable emotions in me.
Maybe men and women were just inherently different.

Hearing this, William gave me a questioning look and raised his eyebrow , as if asking why I was still giving Gideon a chance after everything.
I lowered my gaze and didn’t respond. I simply waited for Gideon’s answer in silence.
I was the one who had proposed getting married, so I needed a proper reason to suddenly back out.
On the other end of the line , Gideon was feeling torn.
If I had said I wanted him to come over and sleep with me tonight, he probably would have dropped everything and come over immediately.
But what I proposed was going to the hot spring with friends.
So he didn’t want to waste his last chance to get “even” with me.
