Julianne already felt humiliated when I asked her to help with my divorce. Now, she was convinced I was insulting her on purpose.
The resentment in her eyes was so strong it nearly shattered her perfect delicate image.
“Irvin…” she forced down her anger and looked at him, ready to complain.
However, Irvin didn’t even spare her a glance. He just scooped me up and walked off.
She was furious, and I was even angrier. Just being touched by him made me want to douse myself in disinfectant, let alone being carried like this.
I struggled, desperately trying to break free, but he refused to let go. I didn’t dare fight too hard, though.
Just as I was about to explode, Shaun stepped in front of us. Tall and imposing, he stood his ground, matching Irvin’s intensity without flinching.
“Mr. Sawyer, Ms. Quill may be your wife, but you should still respect her decisions.”
“Get lost!” Irvin growled, wearing a grim expression.
Irvin isn’t the calm, image–conscious, deeply composed type of CEO. He’s a spoiled, arrogant, and prideful golden boy, someone whose self–esteem is so fragile that he would do anything when provoked.
He was especially furious after the slap I’d given him.
Worried he might take it out on Shaun, I quickly glanced at him, signaling him that I was fine and let him leave.
Shaun looked at me, clearly worried and about to say something. However, under my insistence, he finally stepped back and cleared the way.
Perhaps sensing my protectiveness toward Shaun, Irvin’s expression grew even more menacing, despite Shaun already stepping aside.
Just as I feared he might do something, he did nothing at all. Instead, he strode off with me still in his arms.
Julianne watched Irvin’s back as he walked away without even looking back.
She couldn’t hold back her anger any longer. Ignoring her delicate image, she smashed everything on the table in front of her.

Travis quickly stepped forward to calm her down. It took a while, but she finally composed herself.
As she was about to leave with Travis, she glanced at Shaun, who hadn’t left yet. For some reason, she smiled at him.
Shaun furrowed his brow and left.
Julianne was someone who could be ruthless with herself, so it was clear she was genuinely hurt.
She thought that no matter how Irvin felt about me, he would, as he always did, choose to take her to the hospital first. To her surprise, after she truly hurt herself, Irvin simply abandoned her.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
Once in the car, she lost control and bit Travis‘ arm.
Travis winced in pain, but when he saw Julianne’s neck, an uncontrollable feeling surged through him, turning the pain into something strangely pleasurable.
Just as Julianne was about to let go of his arm, he said hoarsely, “Ms. Lianne, if you still need to vent, feel free to bite me.”
Julianne wasn’t naive. She instantly sensed his intentions, and it disgusted her.
How dare this lowly assistant think he could take advantage of her?
She was furious, but she didn’t show it because she needed Travis right now.
“I asked you to look into what happened when Emilia was hospitalized. How is it coming along?”
The dramatic changes after my fall made Julianne sure that something had happened while she was in the hospital.
