Chapter 410

I already couldn’t fight him before, and now, it was impossible. Still, I flailed my arms desperately, trying to find something to stop him with.
I had rolled around in the sheets with Irvin more times than I could count. And yes, sleeping with him was a thousand times better than being assaulted by someone from a criminal organization.
But that didn’t mean I wanted this to happen, I didn’t want the resolve I had built up with great difficulty to be shaken again.
After much struggle, I grabbed hold of a book and smacked it hard against Irvin’s head. I hoped it would make him come to his senses. Unexpectedly, instead of snapping back to reality, he grew even more excited.
Crushed by the weight of his body, I had no strength left to fight. So, all I could do was lie limply as he devoured me like a raging
storm.
I didn’t understand how it had come to this. It had taken everything in me to decide to let him go. So, how could this be happening? I couldn’t even cry anymore.
Sometimes, I truly felt fate loved to mess with me. Each time I fought hard to claw my way out of the gutter, it would kick me right back into it. It was as though the powers that be couldn’t stand to see me thrive. They loved watching me suffer and seeing
me in pain.
After tonight, I had no idea how to face Irvin or our relationship. I genuinely didn’t want to return to the torturous cycle of being unable to move on, and yet being unable to hold on.
When I had given Irvin that last chance, I had meant it. I didn’t want to–I really didn’t want to return to being torn and tormented. I truly didn’t…
With this in mind, I waited until Irvin had passed out beside me. Finally able to move, I forced myself to crawl to the couch.
I picked up the phone on the coffee table and called Emma. When she answered, I told her to bring me a change of clothes and to come with my security team.
Emma had already been growing anxious because I hadn’t exited the building. And because she also couldn’t reach me, she had been seconds away from calling the police. So, when she received my call, she immediately rushed over with a team of bodyguards.
As Irvin was currently masquerading as Timothy, I didn’t allow Emma into the room or tell her what had happened. After getting dressed, I left the lounge in a hurry.
Grace felt as though she was about to lose her mind. She had clearly watched Irvin press the button for the top floor. Yet, no matter how hard she looked, he was nowhere to be found.
She had searched the entire floor from top to bottom. However, she couldn’t find him. And when she thought about what would happen to her if her plan failed, she couldn’t help pulling at her hair in frustration.
In her entire life, Grace had never known such failure before. She honestly felt Irvin and I were her personai jinx. Whenever we were involved, nothing ever went her way.
Whether it be family background or any other measurable way, Grace was obviously better than us. She should’ve been able to crush us easily.
So why? Why did this keep happening to her? Why had she been driven to the point where she had no choice but to resort to such a plan–only for it to go off the damn rails!.
Grace was incensed. She desperately wanted to scream. And just when she was about to throw a fit, a tall, masked man suddenly emerged from the shadows. She was startled so badly that she stumbled back several steps,
“Did your prey run away too?” the masked man asked.

Grace didn’t recognize his voice. Yet, for some reason, he felt deeply familiar to her. The masked man also didn’t seem to pose any danger.
After steadying herself, she asked, “Did you say ‘too‘?”
Did that mean the masked man had planned something as well, bu his target had also gotten away?
