At the time, the enlightened shaman had foretold that if the twins were both girls, they’d be a blessing, like rare and beautiful
flowers.
If it were a boy and a girl, it would symbolize harmony and prosperity, and the Hardwells‘ future would shine even brighter.
But if they were both boys, it was said to be a bad omen.
One was good, and the other evil. They were brothers, destined to turn against each other, and only one would make it out alive.
When Grace first married into the Hardwell family and heard this prophecy , she couldn’t help but scoff silently. She couldn’t believe how superstitious the Hardwells were, actually believing in something so absurd.
If the shaman were truly enlightened and capable of prophecy, how could he not even know whether Agatha was carrying a boy or a girl? Why would he use the word “if“?
But now …
The shaman’s words had actually come true, at least a part of it. The twin brothers really were one good and one evil.
When Timothy saw the shock and even fear in Grace’s eyes, he scoffed. “You’re no saint, either. Don’t act like I scared you.”
Grace was speechless. She couldn’t exactly deny it.
After a moment of silence, she looked at him and asked, “Why did you want me to recognize who you are?”
At this point, she realized that he had wanted her to find out. That was why she had been able to discover his new identity, and that he was still alive.
“Irvin’s current condition is easier to imitate,” he said. “I need you to install some hidden cameras where he lives and works. I’m planning to disguise myself as him to get close to Emilia and have her do something for me.”
Grace had always been well–informed, and because she kept a close eye on me, she knew a lot about me. She also knew that someone from a criminal organization had been trying to recruit me to join their research project.
Timothy had faked his death on that same organization’s yacht.
In that moment, everything clicked.
“You joined that organization?” she asked.
Timothy leaned back lazily in his chair and said, “To be precise, I’m now the leader of it.”
Grace’s eyes widened in disbelief. As someone in elite circles with a powerful intelligence network , she knew quite a bit about
that organization. As far as she knew, its leader was from Xandria and an extremely powerful figure.
Timothy had once been interested in working with them on some projects, but Magnus had shut it down. He firmly refused to let the Hardwells dip a toe into the gray market.
And now, in just two years, Timothy had become the leader of that criminal organization?
As if he could read her thoughts, he smiled and said, “Because your husband is that capable. Whatever I set out to do, I’ll go all the way and become the best at it.”
Something crossed Grace’s mind, and as she stared at him, her expression grew colder.
“The authorities are already watching the organization closely. If you keep this up, you’ll drag the Hardwells into it,” she warned.
She had come to value the Hardwells. She wouldn’t allow anyone to threaten the family’s interests. Threatening the Hardwells meant threatening her.

Timothy smiled again , unfazed.
“Don’t worry. I won’t. Irvin is the one who did all the dirty work , not me . I just wanted to experience a different kind of life and live freely for a few years. I’ll return to the Hardwells after I’ve had enough fun. I won’t let anything bad happen to us , ” he promised.
The truth was, he’d always had a bit of darkness in him. Ever since he was a child, he couldn’t stop himself from doing things he wasn’t supposed to.
But he was the Hardwells‘ eldest grandson , the heir, always in the center of attention. He couldn’t even make a mistake without being criticized or punished , let alone do something out of line.
