Henry’s immediate concern was Julianne.
She had already ruined her life once because of her jealousy. She just couldn’t stand seeing me thrive.
Henry didn’t want Julianne to make the same mistake again.

“You’re rich now, Lianne. You even have a boyfriend who spoils you. So just live your own life, okay?” Henry advised. “There’s no need for you to do something like this. Really—you don’t have to throw away your entire future just because you hate that Emi’s happy!”
Julianne knew he was right. She had a pretty good life right now, so she had no reason to destroy her bright future just because she was jealous of me.
But she couldn’t help herself. She couldn’t control the envy that burned inside her heart. She just couldn’t stand to see me doing well.
Anyone else could have a good life in this world, except me. I was the one Julianne used to mercilessly step all over. In the past, she could’ve easily destroyed everything I had.
So, she couldn’t believe what was happening.
Why was I not only living well now, but about to marry the very man that was as unattainable as the moon for Julianne?

“What are you talking about, Dad? How could I be thinking about hurting Emi? I really just want to help my friend…” Julianne
whined.
She wore a sincere expression, as though she truly only wanted to help her friend. But no matter how much Julianne insisted on it, Henry didn’t believe her.
His words were heavy with concern as he said, “Lianne, from now on, just live your own life and don’t care about anything else. You mustn’t do anything to Emi.”
Julianne also understood Henry well. So, she knew it didn’t matter what she said. Once he got like this, there was no way he would give her the drug. It only made her even more frustrated.
After Henry left, Julianne grew so irritated that she wanted to go out and gamble a few rounds to blow off some steam. But then,
she spotted Noah’s car pulling in.
Julianne knew Noah liked me and was dead set on being with me. And now, I was about to marry his uncle.
Suddenly, her frustration faded, and she no longer felt like gambling. Instead, she waited until Noah left Ava’s room. Then, she deliberately wore a vulnerable expression and approached him.
Noah had never liked Julianne. In fact, if it weren’t for Ava’s condition , he would’ve made Julianne disappear long ago. So when he saw Julianne approaching, his already emotionally volatile and painful mood morphed into a desire for murder.
But then, Noah remembered Ava still hadn’t fully recovered. So, he could only suppress his violent urge.
He turned to leave, but Julianne ignorantly didn’t keep her distance. Instead, she quickened her pace and blocked Noah’s path.
“Have you heard, Noah? Millie and your uncle are getting married!” she exclaimed.
Noah froze. His hands clenched tightly at his sides. In that moment, the despair and pain he had been squashing down instantly engulfed him whole. It was so unbearable that he couldn’t even hide what he was feeling.
Seeing the agony on Noah’s face, a wicked glint flashed in Julianne’s eyes, and she smiled venomously.
