Even if Noah realized Julianne was deliberately trying to sow discord, she had assumed he wouldn’t dare do anything to her. Regardless of how furious he might be, she had believed he wouldn’t harm her because of Ava’s condition.
Hence, Julianne never imagined he would try to take her life without any warning.
Just as she felt she would suffocate to death in the next second, a voice rang out.
“Mr. Noah, what are you doing! Let go! Let go of Lianne! If she dies, your sister will never get better!”
Henry shouted in panic as he ran over. His eyes were filled with horror at the scene before him.
Before being taken away to treat Ava, Henry had told William the treatment needed to be paired with Julianne’s blood. Otherwise, it wouldn’t work. He had claimed this to protect Julianne.
Ava had suffered so much since childhood, and Noah loved her deeply. So, the moment he heard she would never recover if Julianne died, he finally snapped out of his murderous haze. Slowly, he released his grip from around Julianne’s throat.
Freed at last, Julianne immediately gasped for breath. She looked like a gaping fish as she took large gulps of fresh air.
Before she could even catch her breath, Noah glared at her with violent rage.
“If you ever dare say something like that again, I’ll make sure you’ll never open your mouth again!” he threatened.
Still shaking from the terror of nearly dying, Julianne trembled uncontrollably when she locked eyes with Noah’s savage gaze. But once he had left, her fear quickly turned into anticipation and excitement..
Because the more Noah lost control from rage, the more it meant Julianne’s earlier words had hit him right where it hurt most. The pain that had made him lose control and nearly kill her would also drive him to madness .
That same pain would also make Noah destroy the relationship between William and me. And when that happened, it didn’t matter who out of the three of us ended up hurt most. To Julianne, it would still be a win.
Henry became suspicious when he spotted the change in Julianne’s gaze. He escorted her back to her room and advised her once more not to stir up any trouble.
Then, Henry went out into the garden and called me. “Emi, Noah has gone crazy because you’re with William. I’m worried he might do something to hurt you, so you need to be wary of him!”
“Oh,” I indifferently replied.
Sure that Henry had nothing else to say, I was about to hang up.
However, my indifference made him involuntarily snap. ‘Emilia Quill, I am your father! And even if I wasn’t , I’m calling you because I care about you and your well–being. Don’t you think you’re being too ungrateful?”
