Irvin loosened his grip around Grace’s throat at her words.
He knew exactly what kind of person she was. Words were useless with Grace. The only way to quickly get the information he wanted from her was to make her genuinely fear for her life.
Grace breathed out in relief when she felt Irvin let go. Her legs were slightly weak. She gathered herself and was about to speak.
But then, Irvin said, “Spare me the unnecessary details. Just get straight to the point.”
He had zero patience for her.
Upon hearing Irvin’s words and seeing the violent look in his eyes whatever Grace had planned to say died on her lips. Instead, she truthfully told him how she normally got in touch with Timothy .
However, this wasn’t enough for Irvin.
“That’s it?” he asked, frowning.
Afraid he would try to strangle her again , Grace hurriedly replied, “Yes, that really is it! I’m not important to Timothy. I’m just a pawn to him. Sure, I can contact him, but that really is the only way I’ve ever had!”
As soon as she said that, Grace unexpectedly felt a wave of sorrow wash over her. She truly felt exhausted, beaten down , and
miserable.
She and I were both human. So, why was it that I could live so easily and well? Why did I have two men like Irvin and William who were willing to give me everything, without me needing to do anything? Meanwhile, she had to go through so much
hardship just to stay alive.
Irvin could tell she was telling the truth , that she wasn’t deceiving him. So, he didn’t waste any more words on her. He simply
turned and left.
Seeing that she was out of the woods, Grace found the courage to ask what she wanted to know. “How did you know Timothy is still alive? And what’s gotten into you today? Did something happen?”
However , Irvin didn’t answer her questions. He simply lengthened his strides as he left.
Grace’s eyes were filled with deep regret as she watched him leave. She really had made a mistake–a huge mistake.
Under no circumstances should she have brought him back to the Hardwell family. He was an ungrateful dog that couldn’t be
tamed.
Grace hadn’t considered one thing when she had made the decision. If she hadn’t made him take Timothy’s place , in would
never have had the chance to harm her like this.
Although Grace hadn’t received any answers from Irvin, she didn’t need to guess. His mind was solely occupied by me, his ex- wife, who had long since wanted nothing to do with him.
I was the only person in this world who could make him lose his mind and act so recklessly. And seeing as Irvin had demanded to know how Grace contacted Timothy , Timothy probably had done something to me.
Grace’s eyes grew colder as a thought came to her mind , until her gaze became chillingly dark. She would one day pay back tenfold what had happened today.
Agatha returned just as Irvin was about to walk out of the garden.
When she saw how terrifyingly cold Irvin was, she immediately looked toward Grace on instinct.
Agatha was worried Irvin was like this because he had come after Grace. And when she noticed the red marks circling Grace’s fair neck, she realized what had happened.
Instantly going berserk, Agatha charged toward Irvin to attack him

“ You damn devil!” she shouted. “How dare you! How dare you lay hand on a pregnant woman! How dare you!”
