Chapter 553
Timothy gave Agatha the same story he had given Magnus.

Except, Magnus hadn’t believed Timothy’s story of having amnesia and mistakenly thinking he was a member of that criminal organization. He had felt his claim of walking the path of a crimina and an accidental climb to the position as that organization’s leader was nonsense.
Agatha, on the other hand, believed it all without question. Her heart even ached for Timothy. It pained her that he had been forced to do such things without even knowing who he was.
Timothy was the original, exalted heir of the Hardwell family. Agatha’s heart ached at the knowledge that he had spent two years committing illegal deeds. She also felt terrible for him because he had to have suffered inside that criminal organization.
The Hardwells were the family that Timothy loved and cherished most. Yet, not only had they not searched for and rescued him, they had even brought home a replica to replace him.
This also distressed Agatha. She genuinely felt she had failed her precious son. Because of this, she once again threw herself into Timothy’s arms and sobbed.
Agatha apologized to him as she hugged him tightly, saying things like they, as his family, hadn’t rescued him when he was suffering the most, and so on.
Magnus and Grace were dumbfounded as they watched Agatha. They didn’t even know what to say about her anymore. They Couldn’t understand how there could be someone this foolish on this earth. How could Agatha not see through such an obviously fabricated story?
Magnus and Grace also couldn’t fathom how a mother like her could exist. Irvin and Timothy were both her biological sons. Yet, Agatha’s treatment of them was so polarizing.
This time, it took a lot of effort for Agatha to stop her crying fit. Once it had stopped, the first thing she did was turn to Magnus and demand, “Now that Tim is back, everything that’s rightfully his should be returned to him!”
She wanted Magnus to immediately go and make Irvin hand over everything in his power to Timothy.
At the thought of how Irvin was now barely hanging onto life, Magnus couldn’t resist laughing sardonically.
“There’s no need to waste a thought on that. The second son you’re so eager to see dead is going to die very soon. So, you don’t need to worry at all about him fighting your precious son for anything,” he said.
Agatha had always wanted Irvin dead. Even so, when she unexpectedly heard he would die soon, she was still stunned.
Irvin was about to die? That imposter would die soon? How did that suddenly happen? Wasn’t he supposed to be shrewd? How could he suddenly be on the verge of dying?
As the memories before her mental breakdown slowly returned, Agatha recalled how Irvin had been gravely injured. This left her stunned for a long while.
Then, she said, “If he’s going to die soon, then let him! An inherently evil thing like him deserves to die anyway!
“Back then, the enlightened shaman clearly said the evil one would never triumph over good and that the one who would die should be the evil one. So, in the past, I just couldn’t understand why Tim had died.
“But looking at the way things are now, this is how it should end! Irvin was the one who was born evil, so he’s the one who’s meant to die!”
Agatha had always firmly believed that Irvin was the inherently wicked twin. So, the entire time Timothy had been “dead“, she hadn’t been able to make sense of his death.
The shaman had foretold that evil would lose, so Irvin should’ve been the one to die. As such, Agatha just couldn’t understand why her beloved Timothy had died instead. But now, everything made sense.

However, as though suddenly growing a brain, Agatha seemed to have read his thoughts and said, “Don’t start criticizing me for being a heartless mother or saying you’ve never seen a mother like me, Magnus Hardwell. You’re no better than I am! No–in fact, you’re even worse!
“I may have given up on Irvin, but at least I did it openly and honestly–unlike you. You’ve abandoned him just as easily. Yet, you’re still trying to act all compassionate and full of fatherly love! Don’t you know your behavior is even more disgusting?”
