Irvin was smart, but so was Timothy. So when Timothy officially took over the Hardwell family, he discovered several hidden traps Irvin had left behind.
But he didn’t take them seriously. After all, he’d managed to manipulate Irvin easily last time, so he didn’t see him as a threat at
all.
In fact , he believed that if William hadn’t been helping Irvin, there was no way Irvin could’ve forced him to abandon his original plan and return to the Hardwell family earlier than expected.
So Timothy stayed arrogant and didn’t bother removing the traps. He wanted Irvin’s efforts to be wasted for absolutely nothing.
When Grace found out, she frowned and said, “I told you not to underestimate Irvin. Even if he’s not a big threat on his own, he’s working with William right now. Aren’t you worried about that? Let’s be honest. You just lost to him and had to come back.”
Normally, she wouldn’t dare speak to him like that because of how terrifying and ruthless he was. But she was truly afraid that his arrogance and overconfidence would make them lose everything.
Through a secret network, she had learned that Irvin already knew the babies she was carrying weren’t his and that nothing had happened between them that night.
She had created that misunderstanding to make him give up and to believe he had made a mistake, so that he would finally leave me,
She had destroyed his last chance of being with me, so he must hate her to the core.
His hair turned white overnight because of the misunderstanding. With a hatred that deep, even if he couldn’t take Timothy down, he would do everything he could to kill her.
So no matter what, she couldn’t let Irvin win. He had to die.
Timothy, who was used to being above everyone else, couldn’t tolerate what she said. His expression darkened instantly.
The next second, he pressed a gun to her temple. His voice was cold and sinister, like a devil out to take her life. “Grace, have I been too kind to you?” he asked.
How dare she talk to him like that?
Grace knew he had killed many people before and wouldn’t hesitate to do it. She forced herself to stay calm, but she still broke out in a cold sweat.
Her voice trembled. “It’s not that I’m not afraid of dying. I’m trying to tell you despite the risk. Please don’t look down on Irvin. You have to get rid of every single one of his traps. Don’t give him even the slightest chance to win. If you do, we’re the ones who’ll die.”
He chuckled with disdain. “William could barely handle his own problems right now. He doesn’t have time to help Irvin. Crushing Irvin would be as easy as stepping on an ant.”
Hearing how arrogant he was; she wished she could grab the gun from his hand and shoot him herself.
She had just opened her mouth to speak again when her phone rang . It was an emergency call from her most trusted aide.
She didn’t care anymore whether Timothy would pull the trigger. She simply answered the call .
“Ms. Keller, bad news! That major project William gave us was a trap! Things are looking really bad for us…” her aide said.
She froze.
Then it hit her, and the blood drained from her face.
