Magnus couldn’t quite describe what he felt as he looked at Agatha whose eyes were bloodshot. She looked even crazier than when she lost control the last time.
At the same time, hearing that the babies were gone hit him hard. They could’ve been Timothy’s only legacy. And now…
His gaze, full of accusation, drifted to Irvin, who had followed them to the hospital. He knew how quick–witted Irvin was. If he had acted just seconds earlier, when Grace was about to faint, he could’ve caught her and saved her.
But he hadn’t. He had just stood there, cold as ice, watching it happen.
Yes, he knew Timothy and Grace had both schemed against Irvin and hurt him deeply. But even so , those babies were innocent. They hadn’t done anything, and he shouldn’t have let them die.
Irvin caught the accusation in Magnus‘ eyes but acted as if he hadn’t. Without a word, he turned and walked out of the hospital.
He had only come to confirm if Grace’s children were still alive. Now that he had his answer, there was no reason to stay.
Magnus watched him leave, his chest tightening. He couldn’t understand. How had that once pure–hearted, gentle person turned into someone this cold and ruthless?
Someone who could stand by and let unborn children die.
But what he didn’t stop to consider was why Irvin had changed.
As parents, they abandoned him just because of a shaman’s prediction, labeling him a cursed child without a second thought. They never showed him an ounce of real love or care, not even after he came back.
With what they’d done, they had no right to judge who he’d become. They had no right to call him cold, and they definitely had no right to say he’d changed.
When Grace woke up and learned she had lost the babies, she hadn’t even fully processed where she was before another blow hit her, leaving her completely numb. Her mind went blank. Her expression froze, and she couldn’t even think.
Nobody knew how hard it had been for her to carry those children, how cautious she’d been , how much she had suffered, and how much it had cost her.
She couldn’t even let herself think about it. If she thought about everything she had gone through, even for a second, she felt like she might break or lose her mind.
Grace couldn’t understand why it happened to her. She wasn’t asking for much and just wanted a better life, children, and a family of her own.
Wasn’t God supposed to be merciful? Why couldn’t He show a little compassion to someone who had already suffered so much?
The more she thought about it, the more unfair it all felt.
She fell into a downward spiral. And still, not a single person came to comfort her.
Because Agatha was even more distraught.
As for Magnus, he was indeed upset that the babies were gone. But that was it. He still had other sons , and there would be other grandchildren.
What was gone was gone.
While Grace and Agatha were both falling apart, Irvin was already moving full speed ahead to take over Hardwell Group.
The deal he had struck with Magnus required two–thirds of the shares.
There was a time when he didn’t care about living, and all he wanted was to tear Hardwell Group down and watch them burn. But now, he wanted to build something powerful and lasting. He wanted to build a business empire for his children.

As he was leaving a business conference, preparing to head out, a janitor suddenly stepped into his path. He frowned and was about to say something when he heard “Irvin, please, you have to help Lianne ! If you don’t, she’s going to prison!”
