What William said made me realize that he and Irvin had already thought of this. They had already set everything up in advance.
When it came to doing something like this, I could never compare to them. Since they were taking care of it, I didn’t need to worry at all.
After everything with Irvin and Timothy had ended, I figured my marriage with William should have an ending as well. So, I looked up at him and wanted to say something.
However, my phone suddenly started ringing. It was a custom ringtone, which meant it was Grandma calling me.
I hurriedly answered the call. Usually, I was the one calling her because she was worried about disturbing me. Unless there was an emergency, she seldom called me.
Seeing that it was a video call, I instinctively smiled. As the call was connected and I was about to say something, I noticed it was Henry on the other end of the call.
Meanwhile, Grandma was lying still on a bed behind him. From that angle, it seemed like she was just sleeping. However, the look on Henry’s face gave me a bad feeling.
Before I could ask anything, he anxiously said, “Emilia, if Regina doesn’t have the operation soon, it’ll be too late. I don’t care what it takes. You’ll have to make sure you get a suitable heart for her by 8:00 am tomorrow! Otherwise, you won’t be able to see your dear grandma again!”
With that, he pointed the camera at Grandma. “It might seem like she’s only sleeping now, but she’s actually poisoned! I’m the only one who can cure her! Listen well. If you continue to ignore Regina and let her die, then I’ll make sure your grandma dies as well!”
Henry’s determination made me realize that he would really kill Grandma if his sweetheart died.
I just looked at him as he used his own mother to threaten me. Even though I had already been disappointed in him, I still felt betrayed at that moment. It felt like I was tossed into an icy cavern, and the cold around me was piercing into my bones.
Despite what Henry did, I always thought he would care for Grandma and never target her. After all, she did her best to raise him.
Besides, Grandma had been feeling sick since the beginning of the year. The doctor said she had overexerted herself when she was young and that she could never fully recover.
Although Grandma hated how Henry treated me, I knew she still cared about her only child in this world. With him staying by his side, she would at least live a happy life.
I wanted Grandma to live out the rest of her life happily, so I didn’t give much thought about Henry. I just sent him home so that he could keep her company.
At first, I thought he would do his best to take care of his own mother. To my surprise, he was actually that crazy.
Seeing him acting that way made me yell, “Henry Quill, that’s your mother! Your own mother! Have you forgotten how much she sacrificed to raise you? How dare you do this to her!”
I seriously have no idea how a person could be so crazy. After all, that was his mother whom he had always cared for.
