I lowered my gaze and forced my body to stop trembling. Then, I scoffed.
“So, you think I’m too scared to kill someone because it’s illegal and I’ll be doomed if I do it, huh? Isn’t it illegal to get a heart from a living person as well? Won’t I be doomed either way? Besides, there’s no way I can ignore Grandma’s life. There’s nothing I can do.
“You probably heard the doctor saying that she had reached the end of her life, and she probably won’t even make it past winter. I’m sure Grandma wouldn’t want me to do something illegal because of her. I can’t stop you from hurting her. Since I can’t save her, I’ll kill everyone you care about!”
Lastly, I said, “You can’t accept seeing them die, right? That’s what I’ll force you to watch!”
Henry knew Grandma was feeling unwell and didn’t have long to live. When he realized I might not do something illegal for him, he became incredibly anxious. After all, I might kill the woman he loved the most first.
He wanted to say something else to me, but I didn’t want to listen anymore . So, I just ended the call.
After the call was disconnected, I lost my strength. My legs couldn’t hold my body anymore. If William hadn’t managed to hold me in time, I really would’ve fallen to the ground.
I was yelling cruelly earlier and showing no signs of backing down. In reality, I was the only one who knew how terrified I was. I couldn’t hold my body back from trembling!
There was no way I could accept it if something happened to Grandma, especially when I was the one who sent Henry to her side. I really shouldn’t have overestimated his humanity. I shouldn’t have let him go because I was worried about Grandma worrying about her son.
Instead, I should’ve let him die.
I never would’ve expected Henry would actually do something like that to his own mother when he had always been so obedient. He was actually a psycho.
William saw how miserable I was and held my weak body. Then, he pulled me into his embrace, his heart breaking for me.
“Don’t worry. Everything will be alright,” he said. “I won’t let anything happen to Grandma. My men have already gone to keep Henry under control. The others are on their way to bring Regina here as well. Leave everything to me. Trust me. Everything will be fine.”
I didn’t say anything, nor could I utter a word. I was too afraid because I knew how capable Henry was when it came to poisoning someone. As long as he wanted someone to be dead, no one else could reverse the effects.
If something really happened to Grandma, I had no idea if I could continue living. The more I thought about it, the more my body started to tremble.
However, I soon suppressed the fear with my rationality. It wasn’t the time to be afraid. I had to calm down and save Grandma. I had to stay calm.
With that thought in mind, I did my best to take a deep breath. After a while, I finally calmed myself down.
Meanwhile, William had already arranged a private plane for us to return without me saying anything Just as we were about to board the plane, Regina was brought to me as well.
Since Henry was taking care of Ava in Redwood previously, he brought Regina along as well. Then, when he was sent back, he was unwilling to accept it. No one could control him, so Regina was left in Redwood.
