It was just like Julianne had said. Mom had learned she wasn’t the true daughter of her lost love. Not only that, she had also been the reason his real daughter died.

“It’s no wonder you could never compare to my mother, Diana. It’s also no surprise that you never came close to capturing my father’s heart, no matter how hard you tried.
“A woman like you really is worth less than the dust on my mother’s shoes. You can forget about getting my father to fall in love with you. After everything you’ve done in this life, he would be disgusted to even look at you should you both end up together in the next life!”
All these years, Julianne had been incredibly close to Mom. And as they both had twisted worldviews, they were also able to understand each other well. Hence, Julianne knew Mom’s thoughts well.
In the past, she had used this knowledge to curry Mom’s favor and make her love her more. Now , she was using it as a weapon to stab Mom where it hurt the most.
She would say anything and everything that could drive Mom to the brink. And if it was to the point where Mom wanted to kill her, that would be even better.
After her failed attempt to end her life, Julianne figured she would likely be thrown into solitary confinement once she returned to prison. Then , she could forget about making another attempt . In fact, she might not even be let out of her cell again. She didn’t want to live like that.
Julianne had originally only planned to drop the “good daughter” act and no longer aim to please Mom. But when she thought about the consequences of her failed attempt to end her life, her plan turned into a campaign to intentionally push Mom to the edge.
She wanted to make Mom hate her so much that Mom would snap and do everything to kill her.
Julianne knew Mom so well. So , naturally, her every word cut deeply and cruelly.
Mom was so angry that she saw red. The one thing she could never tolerate in life was being told that she was less than her rival in love, let alone being told she was worth less than the dust on her shoes.
Julianne’s mocking of Mom’s inferiority made her lose all rationale. Lunging crazedly at Julianne, she locked her hands tightly
around Julianne’s neck.
“Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!” Mom shrieked.
Julianne was in pain as she looked at the frenzied Mom. But even though she was choking, she still couldn’t stop herself from smirking.
She was thrilled that her plan had worked. She was pleased that not only was she about to die, but she was also taking someone down with her.
However, she celebrated too soon. Before Mom could squeeze harder, the nearby female officer yanked Mom off of Julianne.
The officer was speechless. How could this mother–daughter duo completely ignore her presence?

Julianne had wanted Mom to kill her in a fit of rage . Mom went frighteningly pale when she thought of the consequences should she have succeeded. And as she stared at Julianne, she didn’t understand how Julianne could do this to her.
Yes, it was true that Mom only adopted Julianne because she thought Julianne was her lost love’s daughter. It was also why she had been so good to her.
That being said, she was genuinely nice to Julianne. Mom had treated her better than me, her own daughter. And even after learning the truth , she had never once thought of harming Julianne.
Yes, she had refused to accept the truth because she couldn’t handle it. But it was also because a large part of Mom didn’t want to hurt Julianne.
